Hello everyone! I’m Emilia, a licensed tour guide for Florence and the surrounding areas. I have decided to follow my passion, and my love for art and for my city led me here. But beyond my professional title, I carry out my job with dedication and enthusiasm. My aim is to let you experience authentic Italian moments and let you feel a sense of our culture, helping you feel “Italian" at least for one day. My plan is to make you enjoy not only through visuals, but also through your taste buds by having you try wonderful delicacies. I propose a series of tours that are both traditional yet also unusual and intriguing. This being said, we can always decide on the itinerary together! There are three main goals that I foster before beginning a tour: - To make you curious about what we'll see. - To make you enthusiastic to see it. - To have fun while seeing it! But more than anything, I want to leave you with a wonderful memory of my splendid city! So come along with me! If my calendar appears unavailable, please contact me anyway. I can organize private transportation by private car and driver. I provide pick-up and drop-off at the hotel or port via the driver. I’ll meet you at the meeting point. For easy communication on the day of the tour, I suggest downloading WhatsApp on your smartphone.

We will walk to the Accademia Museum hosting some of the artworks by the great Michelangelo which will provide us with an understanding of Renaissance sculpture in the 'New Athens' that Florence became during his times. Three different commissionings will take us through the four statues of the Prisoners executed for pope Julius II an example of his 'unfinished' style; the statue of St Matthew carried out for the Republic of Florence, and finally masterpiece David symbol of Renaissance Florence. On this tour, we also will be exploring the two main poles of Florence religious and civic, respectively with its Duomo complex and Piazza della Signoria. A visit to the central food market (closed on Sundays) with its 19th-century architecture will provide an insight into the local food culture and products. A view from the banks of its river Arno will unfold the beauty of its bridges including that of the Ponte Vecchio.
