Þórsmörk is a beautiful nature reserve situated between three glaciers. Large vehicles, like my 4×4 trucks, are needed to reach this unique place. On the Þórsmörk tour, we drive over rugged roads and cross through unbridged rivers to reach the magnificent Þórsmörk valley, which offers a unique fairytale landscape of glaciers, rocks, and greenery. On the tour we drive on the north side of the volcano Eyjafallajökull, that stopped all the air traffic in Europe 2010 Upon your request, we may hike some of the many trails in Þórsmörk and explore the many wonders the valley has to offer.
• Hveragerði – hot spring town is 40-minutes from Reykjavík, good bakery to get packed lunch. • Hvollsvöllur – farm village is 55-minutes from Hveragerði. Quick WC break. • Landeyjafjara - black sand beach is 25-minutes from Hvollsvöllur • Merkurker – canyon is 30-minutes drive from Landeyjafjara • Gígjökull – glacier is 30 minutes from Merkurker / hike • Básar – mountain hut is 20-minutes from Gígjökull / WC / hike • Stakkholtsgjá – canyon is 10-minutes from Básar / hike • Seljalandsfoss – waterfalls is 35-minutes from Stakkholtsgjá • Back to Reykjavík is 1-hour and 45-minutes drive I am flexible with tour times and can adjust stops to suit your needs, ensuring a personalized experience within the 10-hour day.
