Overview of your Reykjavik tour
Snaefellsnes Peninsula is one of the most scenic parts of Iceland. I lived on this peninsula for a few months when I was a boy. Ever since this route has had a special place in my heart and soul. I've been showing foreign visitors the amazing sights along this route for over 20 years and I'm sure you'll love it too. Snaefellsnes National Park is one of the highlights of this route. Inside the park is a perfectly shaped cone volcano which last erupted about 1800 years ago. It is covered with one of Iceland's smallest glaciers. Jules Verne's expedition in the book the Journey Through the Center of the Earth started in this volcano. Along the way you'll see modern lava fields some as young as 800 years old, ring walled crater, cinder cones, columnar basalt formation, great coastline and fishing villages.

Our group of four friends had the most unforgettable time exploring the Snaefellsnes Peninsula with our guide, Stefan. From the moment he picked us up each day, we knew we were in for something special. The tour was perfectly tailored to our interests, and Stefan's knowledge of the area really brought the sights to life. The highlight of the trip was definitely the stunning seaside views. We stopped at several points along the coast where the cliffs meet the sea, offering jaw-dropping panoramas that you can’t fully capture on camera. The seals were another highlight of our day. The natural beauty, history, and Stefan’s expert commentary made the entire trip feel like a personal adventure, and we learned so much about the area’s geology, wildlife, and culture. If you want to appreciate Iceland and see as much as you can in four short days, hire Stefan. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, organized and responsible. He has many day tours but we used Rekjavik as our home base and Stefan took us to see the The Golden Circle, the South Coast, Borgarfjordur and the Reykjanes peninsula where the eruption was. We experienced so much with Stefan and would give him 10 stars if we could. When we return, Stefan will be our guide. Highly recommend!

One of the highlights to our trip to Iceland. This is a beautiful tour in a less-travelled part of Iceland, but within a day trip of Reykjavik. Stefan provided interesting commentary during the trip to and from the incredible seaside wonders.

Depart Reykjavik for the Snaefellsnes Peninsula (10 hours) This route includes some wonderful Icelandic scenery such as lava fields, a ring-walled crater, cinder cones, columnar basalt rock formation, peninsula coastline and fishing villages. The route encircles the volcanic cone Snaefellsjokull which last erupted 1800 years ago. The crater is the entrance to the center of the earth, according to French novelist Jules Verne who wrote the book The Journey to the Center of the Earth.
