I'm a local, born and raised in Iceland. I've spent most of my life in the Reykjavík area, with 10 years in Akureyri, North Iceland. I've also lived abroad in Norway, the United States, and Brussels, Belgium, where my two daughters were born. These experiences have shaped how I see my country and how I enjoy sharing it with others. When I'm not guiding, I'm a proud dad of two football-loving (soccer-loving for my U.S. clients) daughters (ages 12 and 15), which makes me a dedicated soccer dad in my free time. I love hiking and have explored all of Iceland's most popular routes, giving me a deep, practical knowledge of the country's landscapes and hidden corners. By background, I'm a political scientist and have spent most of my career working in government. Four years ago, I decided to turn a long-held dream into reality and trained as a licensed guide while still working full-time. I also earned a commercial driving license, allowing me to offer seamless driver-guide services. Since making the switch, I've never looked back. I genuinely enjoy introducing guests to Iceland's nature, history, and culture in a relaxed, fun, and engaging way. My tours are fully customizable and centred on excellent service. My goal is for guests to feel safe, well cared for, and to leave with both knowledge and great memories. I guide in a Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer, a comfortable mid-sized van with room for luggage. It accommodates up to seven passengers, though five is ideal for maximum comfort. Airport and cruise terminal transfers are available, and larger vehicles can be arranged if needed. When you book with me, the day is yours. Some guests prefer the shortest return to Reykjavík, while others enjoy adding extra stops along the way. I'm flexible and happy to adjust as we go. Overview of your Reykjavik tour
On this tour, we will experience the best things the Reykjanes Peninsula has to offer, from walking over the bridge between 2 continents, to exploring geothermal sites and contemplating the amazing cliffs and the lighthouse at Reykjanesta. We will also enjoy a nice lunch in the town of Grindavik, which famously had to be evacuated because of volcanic eruptions close to the town. I'll actually tell you a couple of stories of people that were evacuated who I personally know, and who even moved to the town where I live. We'll explore the town together, passing by the recent lava fields close to the town and seeing the two big walls built around both the town and the Blue Lagoon. These walls were built to fend off lava from possible future eruptions.
Your Reykjavik tour itinerary
-After picking you up from an agreed on location, we'll first head towards the Bridge Between Continents. -Approximately half an hour later, we'll depart to the famous Gunnuhver Hot Springs. -Next, we'll visit the Reykjanesta Lighthouse, before heading to the Brimketill Lava Rock pool. -Around 20 minutes later, we'd depart to the fishing town of Grindavik, which is surrounded by fresh lava. We could make a stop for lunch here. -Later, we'll explore the Blue Lagoon area for around half an hour, where we'll see the wall that saved it from being covered by lava, as well as the adjacent lava field. -Finally, we'll visit the Seltún Geothermal Area, where we'll see a bubbling hot spring and the scenic Lake Kleifarvatn. -At last, I'll drop you off where I picked you up from or a place of your choice.

Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer model 2022, yet the the more extended version of the model, so there's enough space for luggage if needed. The van is 4WD, which is often good to have in the wintertime here in Iceland.
