Avoid the crowds of the Golden Circle and come along for a full day exploration of the majestic Snæfellsnes Peninsula and see all Iceland has to offer in one day: volcanic beaches, glaciers, dramatic volcanic landscapes, and the world-famous Kirkjufell mountain. After being picked up from your hotel in Reykjavík, we will enter a mystical adventure into Iceland's majestic western coastline. You'll experience beautiful landscapes in this unique part of the country and see some of the must-see spots and a few extra ones as well. You'll get to visit the famous and picturesque Kirkjufell mountain and waterfall, the beach Ytri-Tunga, where you are going to spot the seal colony that lives there. You'll also visit the stunning black sand beach of Djúpalónssandur and explore Snæfellsjökull, a glacier-capped volcano found on the tip of the Snæfellsnes Peninsular that was the inspiration for 'Journey to the Centre of the Earth' where you'll see majestic waterfalls with Icelandic horses relaxing.
Your once in a lifetime experience exploring Snaefellsnes Peninsular includes the following highlights: 1. SEAL COLONY AT BLACK SAND BEACH NEAR YTRI-TUNGA FARM See friendly seals basking on the rocks at this atmospheric and peaceful beach. 2. ARNARSTAPI FISHING VILLAGE With columnar basalt and cliff formations, one of Iceland's most beautiful natural harbors, and lush greenery growing everywhere in sight, Arnarstapi was breathtaking from every possible angle. 3) DJÚPALÓNSSANDUR BLACK PEBBLED BEACH This is a special surprise where you'll learn of the shipwreck that occurred here in 1938 together with exploring the lava formations and caves surrounding this amazing beach. Enjoy the backdrop of Snaefellsnes glacier behind for a dramatic photo. 4) KIRKJUFELL AND KIRKJUFELLSFOSS Kirkjufell, towering the landscape at 1519 feet (463 meters), has been used as backdrops in both Game of Thrones and Secret Life of Walter Mitty. It is magnificant as a backdrop to Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall. 5) HIDDEN GEM SURPRISE
