I'm a local, born and raised in Iceland. I've spent most of my life in the Reykjavík area, with 10 years in Akureyri, North Iceland. I've also lived abroad in Norway, the United States, and Brussels, Belgium, where my two daughters were born. These experiences have shaped how I see my country and how I enjoy sharing it with others. When I'm not guiding, I'm a proud dad of two football-loving (soccer-loving for my U.S. clients) daughters (ages 12 and 15), which makes me a dedicated soccer dad in my free time. I love hiking and have explored all of Iceland's most popular routes, giving me a deep, practical knowledge of the country's landscapes and hidden corners. By background, I'm a political scientist and have spent most of my career working in government. Four years ago, I decided to turn a long-held dream into reality and trained as a licensed guide while still working full-time. I also earned a commercial driving license, allowing me to offer seamless driver-guide services. Since making the switch, I've never looked back. I genuinely enjoy introducing guests to Iceland's nature, history, and culture in a relaxed, fun, and engaging way. My tours are fully customizable and centred on excellent service. My goal is for guests to feel safe, well cared for, and to leave with both knowledge and great memories. I guide in a Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer, a comfortable mid-sized van with room for luggage. It accommodates up to seven passengers, though five is ideal for maximum comfort. Airport and cruise terminal transfers are available, and larger vehicles can be arranged if needed. When you book with me, the day is yours. Some guests prefer the shortest return to Reykjavík, while others enjoy adding extra stops along the way. I'm flexible and happy to adjust as we go. If you have ideas or special interests, feel free to get in touch. I'm always happy to help design a tour that fits you perfectly.

Discover Reykjavík’s highlights with a local — see more in less time as we explore the city by car. I’ll take you to iconic sights, hidden gems, and scenic viewpoints while sharing stories and local insights that bring the city to life. Born and raised in Reykjavík, I know the best places and can tailor the itinerary to your interests — photography stops, history, architecture, contemporary culture, or a relaxed city overview. The route and pace are flexible to suit your group. Optional: join me at a nearby geothermal swimming pool. I visit them regularly and will explain Iceland’s bathing traditions and their cultural importance — local pool culture is now on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Your tour is completely flexible, and I’m happy to adapt the itinerary to your preferences. We can spend more time at the places that interest you most, skip any stops you’d rather not visit, or include attractions and experiences not listed above.
The tour is fully customizable to suit your interests and pace. Below is a suggested itinerary featuring some of Reykjavík’s most iconic landmarks and attractions: - Laugavegur – Reykjavík’s vibrant main shopping street - Hallgrímskirkja Church (entrance to the tower included if open) - Harpa Concert Hall - The Sun Voyager sculpture - Höfði House – the historic site of the 1986 summit between Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev - Grótta Lighthouse - University of Iceland campus - Perlan (The Pearl) - Bessastaðir – the official residence of the President of Iceland - Reykjavík City Hall - Hafnarfjörður – We can visit Christmas Village during the holiday season If you’re interested in museums, we can also include a visit to one or more of the following (admission fees are not included): - Whales of Iceland - Aurora Reykjavík – The Northern Lights Center - Reykjavík Maritime Museum - The Settlement Exhibition - National Museum of Iceland - Perlan Ice Cave Exhibition - Saga Museum - Árbær Open Air Museum

I have a Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer that seats up to 8 passengers, but I prefer 5 so everyone is comfortable.
