“Tales of Chania” Half Day Walking tour with Maritime Museum

Join me into this 3 hour walking tour in the Old Town of Chania to explore and experience the Cretan culture and history. In my tours I like to approach history from a people's perspective. So together we will explore Chania through the eyes of its people – merchants, sailors, artisans, travelers and families who shaped the city’s history. I will share with you my favorite stories as we walk through the vibrant streets of the Old Town and the harbor, revealing how daily life unfolded from ancient times to the present and even visit crafts workshops such as the knives makers. Religion has always played an important role in the lives of Chania’s people. We will visit historic orthodox churches, old mosques and synagogues that reflect the city’s multicultural past and discuss how faith guided daily routines, celebrations and traditions. From grand historical events to simple daily rituals, together we will brings Chania’s history to life and be part of its present!
