Chania is a great place to get started, as here you can find monuments from all kinds of eras and rulers that passed through Crete, from Minoan and Mycenean to Ancient Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Arab, Venetian and Ottoman. Another advantage Chania has in relation to the rest of Crete is its natural beauties (among which 42 gorges and 20 peaks above 2, 000 m), which never cease to amaze and offer something new at every corner! My experience as a guide is mostly related to city tours, but I can also organize half or full day tours in the beautiful countryside of Chania.
