I would love to share my love for the island of Crete with you during one of my tours! Crete has been my base and my home for the past 7 years, although I have lived in different places such as Athens, the U.K. and Spain for several years. I’m a licensed tour guide from the National School of Tour Guides in Greece and I try to bring the island’s rich history to life through engaging and immersive experiences. My previous background in Psychology and Counseling, as well as a master’s degree in Social and Solidarity Economy, have shaped my approach – one that values human connection, adaptability and people’s stories. Having lived in different countries, I understand diverse perspectives and enjoy creating personalized tours that cater to different interests and bring out the similarities between the different cultures. I moved back to Crete to embrace a slower pace of life, spending more time closer to nature and engage in food production, by helping with the family’s orchards and I even have my own garden! My aim is to share the Cretan way of life, introduce you to local people and businesses, show you the hidden gems and offer you a deeper understanding of the island’s history, culture and traditions. I provide a warm, professional and flexible experience, allowing room for spontaneity.

Join me in this walking tour through the old town but also stroll through the modern part of the city, where Chania’s culinary heart beats. Being a big foodie myself I love exploring products, tastes and recipes. Also, having a garden and helping out with the family’s orchard, I usually get the job of processing and preserving the products. So I have an immense respect for all the families that live from the land. We’ll visit one of Chania’s most beloved bougatsa bakeries and a local cheese shop to savor some local delicacies and discover the Cretans’ history through what they eat. Over a cup of coffee or even raki, we’ll experience the rhythm of life on the island. We’ll stroll through groceries, bakeries, herbs and butcher’s shops and explore the local cuisine and pace of life. From there we’ll move to the historic part of the town and we’ll stroll through the colorful cobbled-streets visiting the main neighborhoods, churches and the Venetian harbor, as I share with you my favorite stories.
Meet at the Municipal Market or at your hotel/accommodation if it is at the city center. This is a customizable tour as we walk through the different food shops we can try seasonal products and adjust to individual preferences. We can add a stop for olive oil tasting as well. Also, we can adjust the time we spend in the modern part and the old town. The suggested route would look like this: - Meet at the municipal market (currently closed) - Visit the Bougatsa Pastry shop for some bougatsa and Greek Coffee. - Walk through groceries, bakeries and butcher's shops - Visit a cheese shop for cheese, herbs and raki etc - Old town Leather Market - Orthodox Cathedral and main square - Byzantine Walls - Knife makers workshops - Venetian Dockyards - Yali Mosque - Harbor and the picturesque alleys
