Hello! My name is Peter, and I was born and raised in the beautiful town of Chania! I have travelled around the world and stayed in the United States where I spent my college years. I have been in the local tourist industry for more than 10 years, having been engaged throughout that time in the hotel business and giving tours to travelers. I am excited to show you the beautiful prefecture of Chania, with its vast natural beauty comprising its gorgeous beaches, astonishing nature and its picturesque villages. Crete is located on the crossroads of civilizations with a strategic position on the Mediterranean Sea, as it is on the pathway from Europe to the Middle East and the Minor Asia. With me you will meet Chania's rich history from the Ancient Ages, to the Medieval Ages at the times of the Byzantine Empire, as well the Venetian occupation succeeded by the Ottoman rule through its Modern history and liberation. We will blend it with its local culture and traditions and how it formed the fascinating Cretan culture. My goal is with my pleasant and cheerful personality show travelers a great time and pass through interesting information, so in the near future they will be eager to visit again or at least be nostalgic of the great experience they had on their tour. From my part I will be more than willing to give recommendations for any tour, even for some travelers who have special requests, to be flexible and adaptive according to their needs. Explore Elafonisi island and its beach, one of the most beautiful in the world
Overview of your Chania tour
Elafonisi is located in the southwestern tip of Crete. It is a long peninsula, which is actually an island, connected with shallow sand easy to walk from Crete. Exotic beaches with white sand and turquoise water, are formed on either side of the peninsula. The sand is pinkish in many places, taking its color from millions of crushed shells. Near the breaking point of the peninsula, it seems as a small lagoon, shallow and ideal for kids. At the tip of the peninsula, there is the island which is 3 miles long, ending in a rocky outcrop and small lighthouse. Elafonisi is a Natura 2000 protected area home to more than 100 rare plants and a great shelter for rare loggerhead sea turtles. As it is one of the best beaches in the world according to many sources, its also my favourite beach! On the way back we will make a stop for lunch. Optional visit to a monastery

We had a wonderful day in Crete with Peter as our guide. We went to beautiful Elafonisi Beach, enjoying the sights along the way. We stopped for lunch at a traditional Greek restaurant after, with great food and setting. Peter was friendly, polite and very knowledgeable about the history of the area. Communication before and during our tour was excellent. We would highly recommend a day in Crete with Peter as your guide.

We really enjoyed our time with Peter. He wisely advised that we get to Elafonisi early in the day, and he drove very well on the narrow mountain roads. He had very informative answers to our questions and I really appreciated his considerate checking about whether we needed stops for drinks or bathroom breaks. The restaurant he took us to for lunch was wonderful!

My husband and I spent a wonderful day not only visiting parts of Chania Crete with Peter but also learning so much about the history of the area. Peter took us to an olive oil and wine tasting venue which was so fun and delicious. We drove to areas to see the oldest olive tree and saw where they produce the olive oil. We then went to a fabulous beach , swam in the beautiful water and had lunch. Peter is a wonderful young man , so respectful and accommodating. He made our stay in Chania very special

•Pick up from Souda port, Chania airport, your hotel/accommodation in the greater Chania area or any other nearby convenient location •Stops will be made during our drive to Elafonisi, situated 70km south-west of Chania, crossing the beautiful Cretan countryside passing through picturesque villages, rivers, gorges, springs and olive gardens •Estimated time of arrival is 2 hours by car •Stay on Elafonisi beach for 3 hours •Visit a local restaurant for lunch •Optional visit to Chrysoskalitisa monastery. •The tour ends where we started from unless you prefer a different location •In case you have a special request, I am flexible to schedule the tour according to your needs.
