What a memorable day in this beautiful part of the world thanks to George. He promptly met us in Souda Bay, and spent the next several hours driving 6 of us around the mountains and landscapes south of Chania. He was extremely affable with an excellent sense of humor, stellar English proficiency, and very well read on the history of the area and how Crete has long been at the crossroads of past civilizations and the impacts which you can still see today. His route, through several local villages, was highlighted by multiple stops for amazing photo opportunities, olive oil tastings, and an authentic lunch in Drakona where the proprietor gave us a tour of his homestead kitchen and traditional food offerings. George made sure to make everyone in my group, regardless of senior or child, feel welcome and comfortable for the duration of the trip. He also provided many helpful hints and recommendations for getting around Chaina town by ourselves and was an amazing resource when we had questions about Crete post our visit with him. I would not hesitate to recommend him (or this tour) for anyone looking to explore this area in greater detail, you will not find a greater ambassador or welcoming host. Thanks for the hospitality.

Discover the beauty of Cretan nature, a gorge, villages and taste organic food
Overview of your Chania tour
This unique tour combines exploring the Cretan nature, the most spectacular gorge close to Chania, the villages surrounding it, followed by lunch in perhaps one of the best bio restaurants in Crete and one of my favourites. We will drive through spectacular natural scenery, inside a gorge leading to the foot of the White Mountains, where the restaurant is located. It's not only a nature experience through a gorge but also a cultural one as we will visit two small Byzantine churches and the lunch at the end is an experience by itself. On the way back we drive by the side of mountain over Chania with panoramic view of Chania and Souda port. All food in the small family restaurant is handmade and cooked in wood oven, from bread to the local Cretan and Greek recipes. You will taste a range of Cretan dishes in small plates, and do a short wine tasting. We will not leave the restaurant until you are full! If you wish, we could walk around the farm and area, depending on the season and weather.

George introduced us to a whole new world of Grecian delights including incredible vistas from the mountain tops to the ultimate splendor of rustic authentic Greek dining. Due to George's love and display of all Chania has to offer, we will now consider relocating our lives to Crete.
