Dear Travellers, My name is Stefanie - born and raised in Munich - and I would love to take you out into the beautiful "Wanderland" close to Munich. Treat yourself to one of my hand-selected hiking tours in the Bavarian Alps with unforgettable views of the mountains and authentic food. My motto: Hike like a local! You have never hiked in the mountains before? No problem, I have tours planned out for every (fitness) level. You are more of a pro already? Let me know and we will work out a more challenging tour. Either way, let me worry about tedious tour and itinerary planning, weather conditions, good views and food. I will also treat you to lots of info on geology and the culture and history of this beautiful region during our hike. l have an MA in Language, Cultural and Business Studies (obtained in Germany, France and Scotland) and working with people from different cultural backgrounds has always been my passion. I caught a travel bug early in life which made (and still makes) me travel the world. So, (I like to think that) I know what a good tour requires. And as a trained hiking guide with excellent knowledge of the Bavarian Alpine region and its culture I know many paths off the beaten track. The Alps are strongly affected by climate change. So, in order to protect what I love I try to reduce the immediate impacts of my tours by relying on public transport and minimising the environmental effects of the hikes themselves. This also allows extra time to get to know each other and provide you with entertaining insights. However, I am also happy to arrange for tours with a private driver. Overview of your Munich tour
Enjoy the crisp winter air, play with fluffy snow, and let your eyes wander in awe on my winter wanderland tours in the Spitzingsee area. Several options await. We can walk around a gorgeous, (hopefully) frozen mountain lake to reach a mountain chalet with an amazing selection of excellent food (around 1 hour of uphill walking). If you are up for more walking you will get a chance to do so. Alternatively, let's just kick back and enjoy the atmosphere at this beautiful place. You prefer a little thrill? Let's climb the slopes some more (snow permitting) for some great views and - after we've enjoyed our lunch - head back down on a sledge! It gets fast and is not for the faint-hearted, I'll tell you that much. These are just a couple of suggestions: If you're up for some snow fun and you have something else in mind, please get in touch for a custom tour! Available from the end of November to early January.
Your Munich tour itinerary
Itinerary: - We will meet at Munich Central Train Station to embark on a scenic train and bus ride. - After a bit over an hour, we will reach our destination. - Here, various hiking options await, depending on your fitness level and the current snow situation. - All tours take us to a cosy chalet with yummy food. - Return to Munich by bus / train (1h15). Fitness and Equipment: - You should have a good fitness level and no health concerns. - Bring a beanie, gloves, and sunglasses. Wear warm clothes (several layers that you can shed as needed). - Kindly wear rather sturdy boots that are at least water-repellent and have a good grip. - Please make sure to bring water and an ID for the train.
