The tour begins at your hotel or any preferred location within Munich city. During the comfortable 45-minute drive to the Dachau Memorial Site, I will introduce the historical background of the camp. As a certified Dachau guide, I’ll help you understand the history behind each of the following original camp areas on a 2–3 hour walking tour on site: • The Jourhaus (Main Gate) • The Roll Call Square • The administration building • The International Monument • The barrack • The former crematorium and mass grave area Since most of the tour is on foot, wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for the weather. There are limited shelters, so bring waterproof clothing and an umbrella if it rains. In summer, don’t forget sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and water.
