Hello, and welcome to Munich! After living in Munich for more than 20 years I decided to turn my passion for history (and stories) into my new profession. So I started the training to become an official licensed tour guide in Munich and after some blood, sweat and tears finally got the license to guide guests in my most favorite city in Germany. Most surprising for me was, that even though I knew most of the sites and had seen them regularly, I hadn't understood what those buildings or paintings meant, because I hadn't known the history behind it. For several years now, I love to show this city with all the highlights and hidden gems, the architecture and the novelties - and the story and history behind it. Let me tell you about the little quirks and traditions in Germany, Bavaria and Munich and see this city through my eyes. And then hopefully you will understand, why I love this city so much. Because even after all these years, this city can still surprise me - so join me on my treasure hunt!

Munich is the capital and most populous city of Bavaria, Germany. It is the third-largest city by population in Germany, after Berlin and Hamburg and is consistently being rated as one of the world's most livable city. Munich is also known for numerous architectural and cultural attractions, sports events and its annual Oktoberfest, the world's largest Volksfest. Why is Munich famous for beer and the Oktoberfest? How did all this start? What is really "traditional Munich" and how to enjoy a Bavarian veal sausage - and why is everybody looking a me a bit strange if I eat my pretzel with mustard? Join me on my tour and I will tell you all about the traditions Munich is famous for and the do's and don'ts to make your stay really unique. I can customize this tour according to your requests.
We start at the very center of the city at Marienplatz and make our way to Hofbräuhaus, Weisses Bräuhaus, Bier- and Oktoberfest Museum and Viktualienmarket. If the tour starts before 11:00 am, we'll enjoy a typical Weißwurst Frühstück which includes 1 wheatbeer (0,3l), 1 Bavarian veel sausage and 1 pretzel - after 12:00 pm we'll have a small snack with 1 wheatbeer, 1 pretzel and Obazda (a typical Bavarian cheese spread).
