Hi, my name is David and I was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador. I have a university degree in Ecology and tourism and over 16 years ago I started working as a naturalist guide in the lodges located in the Ecuadorian Amazon Rain forest. However, nowadays, I guide everywhere in Ecuador! During all my years working as a guide, I have been learning more about Ecuador, not only about nature but also about the history & culture of my country and the indigenous groups that inhabited it. Due to my work I also got the chance to explore and travel to several sites and destinations inside Ecuador so I have added those special visits to my tours. I have guided groups as well as independent travelers coming from many parts of the world, which allowed me to know firsthand the needs and requirements of the different guests visiting this country. Some of my hobbies come handy with my work as a guide, and gave me a plus in my job such as: photography of fauna and nature, bird watching and trekking. Currently I am working as a TBL Tour Guide and I have been doing it since 2017 enjoying it very much. With this new situation of the pandemic I kept myself learning more about art and culture of Quito and Ecuador and I am preparing all my tours to go according to my client's requests. My tours range from City Tours of the Old Town in Quito, to day trips and circuits to the surrounding areas of Quito and around the country. From the Amazon Rainforest and through the Andes. A short road trip with great destinations
Overview of your Quito tour
This is a road trip that will take you to some of the main destinations in the Andes close to Quito. We start choosing our first destination: Quilotoa Crater Lake with the beautiful landscapes surrounding the area or visiting Cotopaxi National Park. After this first visit we will drive to Baños town (Well known because of the waterfalls, hot springs, the swing at the end of the world, zip lines and more) Baños town is located approximately at 6000 feet in altitude so weather and temperature is really pleasant. This tour is a combination of nature, adventure and culture where we will have the chance to do many other visits and enjoy interactions with local people. Our highlights are lakes and waterfalls, rose farms or old haciendas. This is a tour that will give you the chance to learn and discover this beautiful country.
Your Quito tour itinerary
Day 1: We depart in the morning from your hotel towards Quilotoa Crater Lake or Cotopaxi National Park. * For Quilotoa will hike part of the rim of the crater or towards the lake (this is a demanding hike). We will have lunch in one of the local restaurants and will move to Baños Town. * For Cotopaxi we will hike around limpiopungo lake and enjoy of a full morning in the mountains. Lunch will be in one of the oldest haciendas in Ecuador and will continue to Baños town. At our arrival we will visit the town and will check in at the hotel. Day 2: After breakfast we will visit the route of the waterfalls and hike towards the one known as Devil's Cauldron. We come back to Baños for the swing at the end of the world and a view point of the town. Also and depending of the day we will visit to a farmers market. Lunch in Baños town and return to Quito. * This is an example of itinerary and can be modify according to the client's interest and logistics.
