Mindo cloud forest + hummingbirds + butterflies

Mindo is a small town in the Andean foothills of Ecuador. This town was founded in 1861 and the current population is around 3000 inhabitants. Mindo is surrounded by the Mindo-Nambillo Cloud Forest; the forest is home to hundreds of species of birds and a great variety of butterflies. There are ziplines to fly over the ravines, you can go tubing in the river, and hike in the rainforest with nature guides. Mindo was recently named the Ruta de Cacao by The Ecuadorian Ministerio de Turismo.

Pick up at your hotel in Quito. We will go to the northwest and on the way we will see the change of vegetation and climate until we reach the Cloud Forest. This ecosystem has a great diversity of flora and fauna species. Our first stop will be the hummingbird reserve where we will have the opportunity to see a large number of birds. Then we will continue to the butterfly garden, where we can admire dozens of different butterflies that swirl around us. Later, we will cross from one mountain to another in a steel basket over the jungle, and we will take a walk through the cloud forest to reach the waterfall. We will return to the town of Mindo for lunch and later visit the chocolate factory. Arrive at Quito hotel approximately 6pm In Mindo we will go to visit: - Bird Garden - Butterfly garden - Cable car - Waterfalls - Chocolate Factory - Zip Line (optional) - Tubbing (optional) -Intiñam Museum Middle of the World (optional)
