We had an excellent experience touring Quito with David. As a local, he is incredibly knowledgeable about the city's history, culture, and hidden gems. His years of experience in the travel industry really show, and he shared interesting stories and insights throughout the day that made the experience much more meaningful. David was also very accommodating to our schedule and flexible when our plans unexpectedly changed. I wasn't feeling well during the tour, and he went above and beyond by helping me get a taxi and translating for me so I could safely return to the hotel. His kindness and willingness to help were greatly appreciated. My husband and daughter continued the tour with David and had an amazing time exploring the city. They especially loved the chocolate tour, which ended up being one of the highlights of their visit to Quito. By the end of the day, they were already talking about coming back to Ecuador and booking another adventure with David, this time to the Amazon. That alone says a lot about the quality of the experience he provides. Hi, my name is David and I was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador. I have a university degree in Ecology and tourism and over 16 years ago I started working as a naturalist guide in the lodges located in the Ecuadorian Amazon Rain forest. However, nowadays, I guide everywhere in Ecuador! During all my years working as a guide, I have been learning more about Ecuador, not only about nature but also about the history & culture of my country and the indigenous groups that inhabited it. Due to my work I also got the chance to explore and travel to several sites and destinations inside Ecuador so I have added those special visits to my tours. I have guided groups as well as independent travelers coming from many parts of the world, which allowed me to know firsthand the needs and requirements of the different guests visiting this country. Some of my hobbies come handy with my work as a guide, and gave me a plus in my job such as: photography of fauna and nature, bird watching and trekking. Currently I am working as a TBL Tour Guide and I have been doing it since 2017 enjoying it very much. With this new situation of the pandemic I kept myself learning more about art and culture of Quito and Ecuador and I am preparing all my tours to go according to my client's requests. Overview of your Quito tour
This is a tour planned to show you the first city declared world heritage by UNESCO. This tour will be a combination of the country's history, art, myths, symbolism and architecture while we will visit the old colonial town of Quito and the Equator line in the middle of the world. A cultural / historical tour that will show the city from the Inca time to the republic, after the independence of Quito. We will visit one of the viewpoints of the city and the most representative churches of the city. Your Quito tour itinerary
This tour takes us to the old colonial town where we will travel to a time in which people used to meet around plazas and walk through narrow streets. We will start picking you up at your hotel and will visit one of the natural viewpoints of the city from where we will admire Colonial Quito from a privileged point: Panecillo with the winged virgin, Itchimbia hill or the towers of Basilica Church. We will continue after to the Historical Center of Quito where we will admire the colonial architecture of old Quito with its churches, plazas and houses. We will walk around Plaza Grande (Independence square), the Jesuit church "La Compañia'', one of the oldest neighborhoods of old Quito "La Ronda" and Plaza San Francisco and its Church. (visits will be done according to time available and interest of the clients). Next we will have a traditional Ecuadorian lunch or snacks (picnic available extra cost) and will continue to the Equator line and the Intiñam museum (path of the sun) located in the latitude 0°00'00.
