Otavalo is locate at Imbabura province, 86 km north of Quito, this town is now one of the most important tourist destinations of Ecuador, surrounded by mountains, lakes, rivers, streams and springs make this small city a paradise where you always return. The city of Otavalo is known worldwide for the famous handicraft Indian Market. You also can have a great experience by knowing the traditions of the natives experts in working alpaca wool, cloths and ítems.
Departure at 08h00, bound to the colorful town of Otavalo and most famous Indian fair in South America, the Pan American Highway, which takes you through spectacular mountain scenery, to enjoy a spectacular view of peoples and communities, while conducting their activities and daily life. Our first stop will be at Guayllabamba where you can taste the "chirimoyas" fruit typical of the area also visit the viewpoint of the road to Cayambe to admire and photograph the beautiful valleys and snow-capped mountains surrounding this place. Before going to Otavalo, we will visit the viewpoint of the Lake San Pablo, at the foot of Imbabura volcano. We continue our journey, and then we arrive at the Otavalo market or Plaza de Ponchos showing varied indigenous crafts, handmade. It is also possible to visit the rural parish of Peguche, where we can learn more about the local culture and the weaving process of the tapestries. After lunch we visit the Cotacachi village, known for leather cloths and musicians.
