The best hot springs near Quito Only 2 hours is the town of Papallacta, famous for its medicinal thermal waters, located in the middle of the Andean highlands where you can enjoy a relaxing day amidst the flora and fauna of the sector in the Termas Papallacta baths. The Termas Papallacta Lake Lookout and immediately next to trailheads into the Cayambe-Coca National Park. On sunny or partly cloudy days, the drive can be stunning. Further on, a dense thicket of Polylepis forest, an endangered habitat once prolific in the high paramos of Ecuador, Termas de Papallacta pools. Really enjoyed this relaxed trip up the Andes to the thermal springs. Gaby was really informative and answered lots of questions from two curious travellers. We loved the short walk through the high altitude forest as well. We were also very lucky to get a sighting of a rarely seen bear. Thanks Gaby for a lovely day.
A wonderfully relaxing day, especially after hiking Cotopaxi. Gabi got us set up at the hotsprings and allowed us to relax at our own pace. Gabi is an excellent guide - very knowledgeable about the history, the culture and the flora and fauna. We spent 2 enjoyable days touring with her and her driver Gustavo.

We did 3 tours in 3 days with Gabby. All were excellent. She is an excellent guide. We had a great time and she made our trip to Quito. Final tour was a calm paced relaxing day at the thermal spa. Much needed after running around South America for three weeks.
