Hello, my dear future friend, my name is Sebastián and I'm a naturalist national guide of this, little but diverse country of Ecuador. Due to my father's job, I grew up in different little towns in the countryside and in my grandparent's farm, full of animals, crops, forest and rivers. Perhaps, this close and early contact with Nature, plus my curiosity to understand how things work, were the main reasons to have fallen in love with the natural world, and eventually needing to share this admiration for Nature and try to spark some awareness on our global environmental problems as a guide. After finishing my University degree in Ecotourism I've worked for some of the most prestigious lodges of Ecuador as: Kapawi Lodge, Sacha Lodge, Mashpi or La Selva Lodge. I have also been involved with different biology research projects on mammals, toads and birds, around the country. Last year, I just finished my second degree, at distance, in Environmental Management while working as a driver guide and tour leader. Sometimes I am a traveler, sometimes a photographer, not often enough a diver, but always a nature lover, . . . come with me, so I can show you the wonders of Ecuador. National Guide License Open Water Diver License Wilderness Advance First Aid (WAFA), CPR and Airway Management Certified. Field Assistant and Field Researcher in various biology studies on mammals, toads and birds. Participant in different courses like: Herpetofauna of Ecuador, biology of Mammals, Mammals of Ecuador, Geology of Ecuador or Formation of Environmental Educators. In my car I can take 3 passengers seated comfortably, but bigger vehicles can be arranged if needed. Due to local driving restrictions I cannot drive (on the rush hours) within the city on Mondays

San Francisco de Quito, the capital of Ecuador, was founded by the Spanish conquistador Sebastián de Benalcázar in 1534; which makes it the oldest capital city in South America and one of the highest capitals of the world (2, 850 masl). Due to the city's well preserved and least altered historic centre, in 1979 it was declared the first World Heritage city in the world. Quito, or better to say Quitu (which literally means "the land of the middle"), by the end of XV century was one of the cities of the Quitu - Cara people throughout the northern highlands of current Ecuador that were invaded or added by Huayna Capac; penultimate Inca emperor who later turned it into the second capital of Tahuantinsuyo. Quito has a special place in the world, just a few kilometers south of the Equator Line (which gave the name to the country) and surrounded by active volcanoes, its a perfect place to enjoy and learn about the Ecuadorian history and culture Come with me to explore and get a taste of real Ecuador.

This was a terrific tour by a fantastic guide. He could not have been better in adopting plans to fit our schedule and what we wanted to do, while making great recommendations that our entire family (both adults and kids) enjoyed. You'll be happy if you take this tour or any tour with Sebastian!
I cannot say enough about how wonderful Sebastian was to work with. He was very responsive to my questions and very timely with his responses beforehand. He tailored our tour perfectly to our interests. He is very knowledgeable about the sites of Quito and got us to the sites with perfect timing for best viewing and experiences. Sebastian's English is perfect. He went out of his way to tailor our one day in Quito to the maximum experience. Look no further for a guide in Quito!
Sebastian was a fantastic guide! He was a great communicator and his knowledge about the area is top notch. He made us feel very welcomed and safe on our first day in Ecuador.
We did an all day tour with Sebastian and it was perfect. He kept the tour interesting so that the 9-year-old grandson would also enjoy some of the sights of charming Quito. Sebastian was at the hotel right on schedule. We actually ended up being out a bit longer, but that was due entirely to heavy rush hour traffic. We never felt rushed during this wonderful day out. The spot Sebastian chose for lunch was perfect----we were the only tourists in the place and the food was great. Thank you, Sebastian, for a GREAT DAY!!!!!
Sebastian is very knowledgeable. He came on time, was smiling and calm all day. He was happy to answer all our questions. He also was receptive to to our need, like stopping for a snack, or changing the pace of walk…. I would definitely book tour with Sebastian next time i am in Quito.
Depending on the pick up point and weather conditions, we could either start with a visit to the "Panecillo" hill for an awesome view of the old town or start walking around the narrow cobbled stone streets, visit some of the catholic temples and centennial buildings like La Compañia church, Basílica del Voto Nacional, San Francisco church, the Archbishop's Palace or the Independence Plaza to unveil their stories while having a plunge into Quito's culture and mannerisms. Then we'll drive for about 35 minutes (depending on traffic) towards the Middle of the World Valley to visit the exact place where the Equator Line crosses and learn more about the 18th century French Geodesic Mission and its importance to the country and history. For lunch I will suggest a restaurant according to your taste.
