Cotopaxi Volcano prívate tour from Quito

Had an excellent private tour of Cotopaxi with Juan. He was very respectful, knowledgeable, and easy to spend the day with. You can tell he really knows the area, the roads, and how to move around like a local, which made us feel very comfortable and safe throughout the entire experience. He gave us great information about Cotopaxi and Ecuador, was flexible with the itinerary, and made the day feel relaxed rather than rushed. It was especially nice being with a local guide who knew exactly where to go and how to navigate everything smoothly. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a knowledgeable, professional, and trustworthy guide in Ecuador.

Juan took us up to Cotopaxi on a sunny but windy (ca. 40mph) day. He speaks English well, has a lot of knowledge about the area, fauna, and flora, and told us of his experiences climbing Cotopaxi. We decided not to go up the mountain as far as some others, stopping instead at a good viewpoint for more close-ups of the volcano and it's icy, snowy summit. One of the most-visited national parks, expect to see many other vehicles and visitors approaching and inside the park on good weather days. The nearby lagoon road approach was flooded due to recent rains, but was still a bit crowded by visitors. Overall Juan was a very good and informative guide who liked sharing his country and experiences with us.

Juan is an excellent guide. He was on time for the pickup and ready to go. We went up to the Refuge on Cotopaxi, and he even took us a little higher. Juan is very knowledgeable on the flora in Ecuador and gave info on it as we went. If you want a guide for Cotopaxi, I'd highly recommend Juan.
