Barcelona from an architectural point of view!
My name is Laura, a local architect in Barcelona! I was born and raised in this wonderful city so I know every corner of it; get lost in Gothic and Born narrow streets, get delighted by Gaudí's unique architecture, or enjoy some tapas and traditional "Vermut" in the local neighborhood of Gracia's. Moreover, I can share a lot about Catalan and Spanish culture, traditions, history, and of course, architecture! I can personalize the tour for you depending on your interests. I can provide you with information from local traditions to local restaurants, chill rooftop bars, or hidden gems in tourist and non-tourist areas.
Already as a student, I started to become very passionate about the history & architecture in this city and had the opportunity to work in places such as Sagrada Familia or Gran Teatre del Liceu.
Some years later, I went to study and work abroad in Sweden, Belgium, and France and that's why I speak French and a little bit of Swedish.
In 2016, after this experience abroad I decided to come back to my hometown and develop my passion for showing the city to visitors, which I really enjoy, together with my architecture profession. I consider myself an open-minded person and I love getting to know new people and sharing stories about different cultures.

In my tours, you will have both, a local perspective and an architect's point of view and we can combine it with some tapas, wine tasting, or excursions outside Barcelona.

- I prefer not to drive during tours. We can use public transportation (metro, taxi) or I can arrange a private car or a minivan with a driver.
- I will not be able to guide you inside of the historical monuments.

In this tour, you would be able to explore with a local architect how Gaudí and Modernism changed Barcelona. Not only you would learn about this style main characteristics but also about the famous movement "Renaixença", in which the Catalan bourgeoisie impulsed this extraordinary artistic period or about how the city expanded when the Industrialization arrived to the city in it's worldwide famous Eixample city plan.

Moreover, you will get to know which plans had Gaudi in New York, that almost became possible in 2002 or why Casa Milà, one of Gaudí's Masterpieces wasn't accepted on the time of it's construction or you will be surprised to know how much is the rent to live in one of it's unique apartments.

The tour will end by visiting the exterior of the Sagrada Família and its outstanding school building. If agreed in advance, you will be able to enter the Basilica and visit it at your own pace. I will have previously helped you to buy tickets from the original website and without staying in line.

Gaudí modernist Architecture tour - Half Day

This tour is the perfect way to get to know the history of Barcelona in a walking tour in the Old City of Barcelona (Gothic and Born quarters) ending up in a relaxed and chill way.

Do you know that Barcelona is a city with more than 2000 years of history? In this tour you would be able to walk along the streets where the first locals founded Barcino, the roman name for the old Barcelona. Moreover, you will get to know about the Spanish Civil War, how the Spanish Empire grew through the centuries and became so powerful, you will be in the Palace where Columbus raised the funds to start his famous expedition, and also understand why the 11th of September is so important in Catalonia.

The tour will include 2 stops for wine and some local tastings and will end in the trendy neighborhood of El Born where the group will have time to relax and enjoy in a previously reserved tapas restaurant by the guide.

Half Day Barcelona Evening Tour (History, Architecture & Wine and tapas/cheese experience)

Do you want to explore Barcelona in a relaxed and comfortable way? Do you want to see all the essentials of Barcelona in one day? Are you interested in both architecture & history and want to learn about the city from a local architect?

The tour will be organized in 8 hours tour with 2-3 breaks, everything chauffered for best confort. In the first part you will walking along the narrow streets full of history and anecdotes of the Gothic and Born. After some lunch break we will continue to visit the modern city with all the Gaudi and modernist essentials.
You will be finally be dropped at Hotel Grand Central (Via Laietana, 30) At 6pm.
