Bonjour! Welcome to Bordeaux ! My name is Julie, and I was born and raised in the countryside of Bordeaux, surrounded by vineyards.

I used to live in the south of France for my last year of university but I moved to Paris right after graduation. From there, I worked as a licensed tour guide for some of the most emblematic French monuments and regions (Louvre and d'Orsay Museums, château de Versailles, the Loire Valley castles, Normandie…). It was an enriching experience ! However, Paris is Paris (an amazing city, but definitely too many Parisians). So I found a better opportunity and came back home.

Once in Bordeaux, I decided to specialize in wine (how could I not), and I'm now a full-time guide who provides wine and History tours in the Bordeaux region, but also other areas such as the Dordogne (medieval villages and pre-historic sites), french Basque Country or the Arcachon Bay (sand dune, oyster tasting).

I've always worked in tourism and I am a curious person, so I keep learning every day. Thanks to my experiences in various French regions, I will be able to adapt to your interests and customize THE tour you need. I am a very attentive person and I really want you to enjoy your time here. So do not hesitate to ask me for advice!

I don’t have my own vehicle, however I can accompany you in your own car, or I can also arrange to rent a mini-bus with a driver.

With 700 châteaux on 5500 hectares located around the charming medieval village, the vineyard of Saint-Emilion offers an important density of wineries, mainly small family estates. The area of the wine appellation shows a large diversity in type of soils, creating wines that can be fruity or mineral, elegant or powerful.

Beside St Emilion is one of the smallest appellations of Bordeaux, Pomerol. With less than 800 hectares mostly planted with merlot it produces the most expensive wines of the region, with a long aging potential.

Fronsac is way less famous, as it's in the shade of those two prestigious appellations (Saint-Emilion and Pomerol), but deserves to shine as well: the hilly landscape offers optimum conditions for the vines. Being less known as an advantage: attractive prices. . .

The fame of the Bordeaux vineyard is closely linked to the Médoc. Despite some vineyards that have been planted during the Middle Ages, this region knew its golden age in the XIXth century with the creation of the famous 1855 ranking. Nowadays, the Grands Crus Classés of Médoc are the flagship of Bordeaux, being among the most expensive and the most exported bottles of wine of the region.

Driving on the famous "route des châteaux", this road that crosses the region from north to south, you will discover some of the most emblematic wineries and understand why we call them "châteaux".
