George Orwell & the Spanish Civil War
George Orwell & the Spanish Civil War is a specialized tour for ToursByLocals only!
We'll be learning a lot of facts and figures about the Spanish Civil War and about George Orwell's involvement in it, while strolling through Barcelona's Old Town.
We'll be discovering the hidden corners, off the beaten track, that George Orwell visited.
On the go, we'll read some passages of Homage to Catalonia and much more! At times hilarious ("the Sagrada Familia's towers are bottles of German wine"), sometimes rigorous, Orwell is an extraordinary leitmotif through this great city!

We had a wonderful tour with Mark, his knowledge regarding the Spanish Civil War is amazing. This is definitely a must do tour. Our daughter was amazed by the history leading up to, during and after the civil war and how that has affected Spain since then. We were all impressed by Mark's knowledge about the international volunteers, our daughter loved his stories about Orson Wells. Mark is obviously very passionate about Spain's history and could answer any questions we had regarding the civil war.
