A fun tour that explores Chicago's ever-evolving craft beer culture
This tour will cover Chicago's craft beer history as well as Chicago's current craft beer boom. After a brief history lesson, we will check out several of my favorite craft breweries and sample their beers.
There are over 60 microbreweries, nanobreweries, and brewpubs to pick from. Several of my friends run these establishments, and we'll get to go visit them. You'll get a chance to chat with some of the brewers.
Once we learn a little about our beer history, I'll take you to several of my favorite breweries including MARZ Community Brewing, Illuminated Brew Works, Goose Island, and others. We can customize the breweries on our itinerary to suite your interests.
The tour will wrap up in Hyde Park where the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893 fairgrounds once stood. It is relevant historically as beer and the brewer's arts and technology were featured in the Agricultural Building. Two independent Chicago brewers were represented during the fair, and they both won awards for their brews.
