Thank you for visiting my ToursbyLocals page, I genuinely enjoy guiding people & sharing the unique stories and highlights of each place I visit with my clients, I love meeting visitors from all over the world and helping them discover something new makes my job rewarding and enjoyable - hopefully this is shown in my reviews so please take a moment to look at them. Overview of your London tour: Windsor is the largest and oldest continually occupied castle in the world having been home to the British Royals for almost 1000 years! We will visit the wonderful state rooms and get up close to the art and antiques collected by the Royal Family through out the centuries. The extraordinary Queen Mary's Dolls House is a must see, as is St George's Chapel which is built in Perpendicular Gothic style unique to Britain & is where Queen Elizabeth II is laid to rest along with Henry VIII, Jane Seymour and many other monarchs, the chapel also hosted the marriage of Harry and Meghan. While in Windsor we will view Windsor's Royal processional route, the Long Walk and see Eton, the renowned school that educated Prince William, Prince Harry and 20 British Prime Ministers. We will also go on a driving tour to Runnymede, the birthplace of English democracy, where King John sealed the Magna Carta - some what unwillingly! Please note that Windsor Castle is not open on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.
• Pick up from Southampton port for the 1.5 hour drive to Windsor • We will then spend around 3 hours in Windsor Castle • Drop off in London via Runnymede Please note: -Only Blue Badge Guides are permitted to guide in Windsor -Any other guides are simply offering an expensive taxi service! -Windsor Castle is not open on Wednesdays -St George's Chapel is closed on Sunday's.
