Driving tour through Edinburgh's World Heritage sites: the Georgian Newtown and the Medieval Old Town. This tour will drive you to the main historic attractions in Edinburgh you may later wish to explore walking. We will have short stops to take photographs. I will explain the history and context of the capital of Scotland and point out some of the architectural gems of this ancient city dominated by the famous brooding Castle. I have always been fascinated by history landscape and architecture. This tour perfect for people with short time or less able to walk. The perfect way to orientate yourself and see the main highlights of the city.
The itinerary will be the following: - Hotel pick up. - Driving tour through both World Heritage sites of Gerogian Newtown and medieval Old Town. - History and context with suggestions to explore by walking. Grassmarket and The Cowgate to Holyrood Palace. - Cannongate up the High Street then University area. - Drive round Holyrood Park with stunning views to Duddingston Village with 12C church. - Craigmiller Castle an option if time permits. - Back to Edinburgh hotel.
