I offer tours of Bath, Stonehenge, Avebury, Wells, Cheddar, Glastonbury, stately homes and beautiful villages surrounding Bath. I was born and grew up in Bath so if you would like a tour with a local, look no further - I am what locals call a genuine Bathonian! Travelling has been in my blood since I was young. I have been fortunate to visit many places in the world from Europe to Latin America, South East Asia, USA and Australia. However as Dorothy in the film "The Wizard of Oz" says: "There is no place like home" and so after working for a global tour operator I have settled back in Bath where I am surrounded by a beautiful city, lovely countryside and my family. Today I take great delight in showing visitors around my home city and the local area. If you are visiting Bath for the first time check out my Bath City Walking Tour which will give you a great introduction to the city. For those looking for a unique experience I have also created a tour where you can combine this with the opportunity to fly a hawk in the countryside which is an incredible experience. As I have a vehicle I also take visitors on tours of Stonehenge which is only 50 minutes from Bath as well as to other fascinating places such as Avebury, Wells, Cheddar and some of the charming villages around the city. The vehicle also allows me to do sightseeing transfers to/from Bath - from airports, ports and London. I can also customise tours and in the past I have taken visitors to Stately homes in the area e. g. Longleat House, Stourhead and to places like Salisbury Cathedral (which has a copy of the 1215 Magna Carta). If it is not an area of my expertise I will let you know. Do take a look at my reviews. In 2022 I was thrilled to win the "Experience of the Year" category in the regional tourism awards. My goal is to give you a wonderful experience during your stay. I hope I will meet you and have the chance to show you around my home city and the area that I affectionately call the West Country. Experience of the Year Gold Award in the 2021/22 Bristol Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards. All licenses required to transport passengers in my vehicle. Member of Visit Bath (Bath's official tourism organisation). Born and raised in Bath and experienced global traveller! NONE

Thousands of years ago people went to tremendous effort to build sacred monuments on the landscape. Some were built out of wood, others out of stone and earth. Today remnants of these stone monuments stand proud in the countryside serving as a reminder to our ancient past. On this day-tour from Bath I will take you to the most impressive monuments in the area. Any beliefs that the people of the Stone Age were simple and primitive will quickly be dispelled! During the tour I will explain about their history and unusual stories. I have attended talks by leading archaeologists and I will share with you the latest discoveries and theories. We will visit 2 stone circles: Avebury, the world's largest stone circle where you can roam among the stones and touch them; and Stonehenge, our most famous and impressive stone circle. We will also visit the finest prehistoric tomb in the region and see the world's largest prehistoric chalk mound which continues to baffle all those who see it!
• I will collect you from Bath and drive you to Avebury, approx. 1 hour away. • We will spend 90 minutes at Avebury. We will stroll through the charming village and explore the remains of the world's largest stone circle. Some people can sense energy from the stones - will you? • Next I will drive you to the West Kennet Long Barrow, 10 minutes away. A short 15 minute walk across fields will take us to the entrance of this prehistoric tomb. I will take you inside the tomb and explain its history. I will also show you the nearby mysterious Silbury Hill. • We will stop for lunch at a traditional English pub. • After lunch I will drive to Stonehenge, approx. 45 minutes away. • I will take you on a 90 minute guided tour of Stonehenge. We will explore the Visitor Centre and walk around the ancient stone circle. • At the end of the tour I will drive you back to Bath, approx. 50 minutes away. Please message me if you would like to customise this tour e. g. to go inside the stone circle at Stonehenge.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
To get to and from the stone circles I will drive you in my modern, air-conditioned vehicle - a Ford Galaxy. I am licensed to carry 6 passengers. The 2 seats in the 3rd row can accommodate adults but I would advise against these for tall adults. During our exploration of the stone circles we will be on foot - walking on grass which can be muddy when there has been rain and we will be exposed to the weather so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing.
Bath, England, United Kingdom
I will meet you at your accommodation in Bath or at a central location in the city e.g. the railway station.
