Hi! I moved to Bath with my family 28 years ago and have no intention of leaving ! I would love to share my love of this beautiful Unesco World Heritage city with you and have been guiding for about 12 years. My professional background was teaching German , some French and English so I have had plenty of experience of presenting and escorting groups here and in Europe. I have been fortunate to have travelled widely and have participated in many Guided Tours and Shore Excursions with other tourists from all over the world including Australia, New Zealand , Canada, USA, South America, India and China. These have made it clear to me what sort of tour I enjoy and I hope to offer you that type of tour. I'm told I speak very clearly, so there is no problem if you are not used to the English accent. I'm very keen to cater for guests with disabilities, so please let me know if you have any special needs. My tours are informative and I will tell you a lot about the history and architecture of Bath as we view the compact Georgian city, including Bath as Jane Austen experienced it or as in Bridgerton, if you are a fan . I bring the places we look at up to date by telling you what they are used for now and what life is like in Bath in modern times. I focus on the residents of Bath, past and present, and keep things light hearted with some stories.. Gardening is a passion too. I enjoy showing you my photo hot spots and the stunning views around Bath. I feel very lucky to live in such an amazing place and to meet people from all over the world. I am happy to do tours if required in German and French. I also speak some Spanish but it is far from perfect! You are welcome to bring your dog on my tours. My approach is friendly and professional and Tour Guiding is like an enjoyable hobby for me. B.A Honours. German with French. Postgraduate Certificate in Education I’m not a driver guide so just offer walking tours in Bath. Guides are not permitted to guide inside the Roman Baths Museum so do book online yourself snd use the Audio guides

Jane Austen's family had close connections with Bath. She visited Bath a number of times before living here for several years. Bath is a World Heritage City and one reason it was awarded this status is that it is the best-preserved Georgian city, many parts of which Jane would recognize. The two novels in which much of the action takes place in Bath are , 'Northanger Abbey' and 'Persuasion'. The streets and buildings Jane writes about are mostly still here as are the houses she stayed or lived in. In the tour, we will walk in Jane's footsteps and I will show you Jane's Bath, bring it to life and entertain you with extracts from her novels and diaries. The tour combines a general City Highlights tour of Bath.
The tour will include • Pump Room • Bathing Establishments • Assembly Rooms • Circus • Royal Crescent • Pulteney Street and Bridge • Sydney Gardens • Abbey • Queen Square • Film locations • The houses Jane lived in and placed her characters in. We will see all the places from outside and they are all short stops. I will quote from the novels and Jane's diaries at the appropriate places. You may wish to visit the Jane Austen Centre before or after the tour or take tea in one of the places I can recommend. When the weather is clear there is an option to take a short taxi ride up to a fantastic viewpoint, which Jane wrote about. The cost is about £20 extra per taxi. If your walking ability is limited, some of the distances can be covered by taxi. Do let me know any special wishes as I am happy to accommodate them.
