Cheryl was such a wealth of knowledge and information, as well as being super accommodating and a really nice person. She made adjustments to what we needed, and made it seem like it was no problem. She is really worth using as a guide.

From Bathers to Bombers is a unique tour that explores important events in the development of the World Heritage Site of Bath; from the first century Roman holiday spa, through to the fashionable resort of the 1700s, and then on to the 1900s and Bath at war when the city suffered 3 phases of intense bombing that left scars we can still see today. The attack was known as one of the Baedeker air raids as the city was said to have been singled out from the famous Baedeker Guide Books, the equivalent of today's Lonely Planet Guides. The book describes Bath as 'the chief winter spa in Britain … a handsome city, unrivalled for its combination of archaeological, historic, scenic and social interest. A city of crescents, terraces of Bath stone and rising tier above tier' So why was Bath bombed? what happened to the historical monuments? How were the events leading up the raids part of new chapter in the development of aerial warfare that we witness today? Join me on Bathers to Bombers for the answers.

Cheryl was so informative and interesting! One of the best tours we have ever taken. She had so many facts at her fingertips. Just a great tour!
We absolutely loved our tour of Bath. Cheryl C was a fantastic tour guide. She was knowledgeable and fun. An treasure of a guide. Let me start by saying that our group was not your normal group. We are four mid sixties adults, two of whom have mobility issues. Two have known each other since 7th grade and keep up a constant commentary during the day. (That should read as a couple of know it alls). Through it all Cheryl was fantastic. Such a sport and professional. Her knowledge of the area is top shelf. He even pointed out Nicholas Cage's house and the fact that he had a pool in his basement. (Who knows that but a true local). We were astonished the background tidbits that she had on the buildings around the Royal Crescent area. Cheryl had no problem with unique character of our group and she found us a great spot for lunch. Take this tour and ask questions. Frank from California

We loved Cheryl! We were met and delivered right to our hotel on time. (On foot) it was a pleasure to have a guide who knew and loved the location we were in: Cheryl clearly communicated this with here energy, stories, and warmth. We highly recommend any tour guided by her, as she was sensitive to our needs and time constraints. A lovely unforgettable time spent together.

This is a walking tour. Bath is best seen on foot and the duration of 2 to 2.30 hours allows for a gentle pace round the city. However Bath has been compared to Rome with its seven hills so If mobility is a problem please advise. We can use taxis to begin at the top and then wander gradually back down hill to the centre. I can also provide coach tours for large groups.
