I offer tours of Bath, Stonehenge, Avebury, Wells, Cheddar, Glastonbury, stately homes and beautiful villages surrounding Bath. I was born and grew up in Bath so if you would like a tour with a local, look no further - I am what locals call a genuine Bathonian! Travelling has been in my blood since I was young. I have been fortunate to visit many places in the world from Europe to Latin America, South East Asia, USA and Australia. However as Dorothy in the film "The Wizard of Oz" says: "There is no place like home" and so after working for a global tour operator I have settled back in Bath where I am surrounded by a beautiful city, lovely countryside and my family. Today I take great delight in showing visitors around my home city and the local area. If you are visiting Bath for the first time check out my Bath City Walking Tour which will give you a great introduction to the city. For those looking for a unique experience I have also created a tour where you can combine this with the opportunity to fly a hawk in the countryside which is an incredible experience. As I have a vehicle I also take visitors on tours of Stonehenge which is only 50 minutes from Bath as well as to other fascinating places such as Avebury, Wells, Cheddar and some of the charming villages around the city. The vehicle also allows me to do sightseeing transfers to/from Bath - from airports, ports and London. I can also customise tours and in the past I have taken visitors to Stately homes in the area e. g. Longleat House, Stourhead and to places like Salisbury Cathedral (which has a copy of the 1215 Magna Carta). If it is not an area of my expertise I will let you know. Do take a look at my reviews. I was born in Bath and am proud to call it my home. I start this tour with a visit to my favourite viewpoint to give you a great perspective of the city. We then head into the centre where I will take you on a walking tour to show you Bath's famous landmarks. I will explain about the history of the city and tell you interesting stories behind the buildings and the city. You will hear about the legend of Bath, famous residents such as Jane Austen and how the city's hot springs once attracted Kings and Queens! I can also show you where movies and shows were filmed e. g. Bridgerton! After exploring Bath we will continue to Stonehenge. Despite visiting Stonehenge many times it never ceases to impress me. Knowing its history and theories makes Stonehenge much more fascinating so I will share these with you from my research and talks I have attended by leading archaeologists. As we walk around the stones I will point out interesting features and share some unusual stories. We will return to Bath around 5pm.
Daniel is a fabulous guide. He’s so knowledgeable about Stonehenge and Bath and provided many interesting historical as well as modern day facts. He is very entertaining and friendly. The pub that he chose for our lunch is a real gem with great food. We hope to make it back to stay a little longer and definitely take additional tours with Daniel. We highly recommend!!

Daniel is a wonderful guide with in depth knowledge of the city of Bath, the southern Cotswolds, Stonehenge, Wells and Cheddar. We especially enjoyed the VIP tour of the Cheddar Gorge Cheese Factory. We were fortunate to hear wonderful organ music at the beautiful Wells Cathedral. By traveling in a minivan, we were able to access several charming and picturesque villages and churches. We were also lucky to experience lunch in local restaurants. Daniel is extremely personable and happy to share his unique perspective of Bath and it's surroundings. We highly recommend this tour provided by Daniel Hancock. He was fantastic! As a Bath local, he knows his city well and gave us an in-depth history of the medieval, Roman, up to present periods. Stonehenge was the icing on the cake, but we were blessed with good weather and low crowds. He knew the best time for our tour (later in the day). Throughout the day, he showed us pictures, videos, and fun anecdotes, and snacks of local cheese to add to his knowledge. A great tour, highly recommend!
• I will collect you at 9am and drive you to a viewpoint over Bath. • Over the next 2. 5 hours we will explore the centre of Bath on foot where I will show you Bath's famous landmarks. Places include: Pulteney Bridge, Bath Rugby Ground, Great Pulteney Street, Bath Abbey, Pump Rooms, Thermae Bath Spa, Queen Square, The Circus, The Royal Crescent. • After exploring Bath we will stop for lunch before continuing to Stonehenge, approx. 50 minutes from Bath. • I will guide you around the Visitor Centre and the stone circle. We will have approx. 1. 5 to 2 hours at Stonehenge giving you plenty of time to experience the site and take photos. • At the end of the tour I will drive you back to Bath. We do not go inside the museums in Bath e. g. the Roman Baths museum and we cannot go inside the stone circle at Stonehenge - but you will get close to the stones! Before the tour you will need to purchase your Stonehenge entrance tickets - I will send instructions (if you prefer me to arrange these please let me know).

The majority of the tour is on foot (walking). We will be walking on grass at Stonehenge and we will be exposed to the weather (it can get cold and windy at Stonehenge) so please wear suitable footwear and bring suitable clothing. To get to and from Stonehenge I will drive you in my modern air-conditioned vehicle - a Ford Galaxy. I am licensed to carry 6 passengers. The 2 seats in the 3rd row can accommodate adults but I would advise against these for tall adults.
