Glastonbury is so special where can I start - steeped in mystery and legend it is said to be the true Isle of Avalon and the final burial place of King Arthur and Guinevere. The Abbey is said to be the first in the country founded by the uncle of Jesus and is home to the mysterious Glastonbury Thorn a tree which flowers at Christmas - the Queen is always sent a blossom for her breakfast plate. Centre of lay lines, scared geometry, Glastonbury Tor stands out above the Somerset levels, seen for miles around. To this day modern pilgrims make the steep climb in search of earth energies. And then to Wells for the majesty of the great Gothic Cathedral that towers above the pretty market place. Dating from the 12th Century this monumental church has the finest collection of medieval statuary in the country as well as tales of bishops and bodies, one of the world's oldest clocks and the oldest street in Europe. Join me for a special day in stunning Somerset.
•From Bath 50-minutes takes us to Glastonbury across the Mendip Hills. It is here that the hot springs of Bath are said to originate and for thousands of years lead has been mined here. At Glastonbury 2. 5 hours will give us time to visit the Abbey and vast array of New Age and ethnic shops; even perhaps pop in for a tarot reading. Weather, energy and time permitting we can climb the Tor for a wonderful view over the Somerset Levels. Feel the energy!! • A 15-minute drive get us to Wells, the smallest city in the UK, and home to one of the most majestic cathedrals in the country. From the grounds of the Cathedral it is possible to see St Andrew's Well which gives the city its name. The 2. 5 hour tour includes the Cathedral, a visit to the public area surrounding the Bishop's Palace and time to explore the Liberty of Wells and pretty market place. •From Wells return to Bath through the stunning Cheddar Gorge approx. 50 minutes There will be time for refreshments at either of the two stops.
