I offer tours of Bath, Stonehenge, Avebury, Wells, Cheddar, Glastonbury, stately homes and beautiful villages surrounding Bath. I was born and grew up in Bath so if you would like a tour with a local, look no further - I am what locals call a genuine Bathonian! Travelling has been in my blood since I was young. I have been fortunate to visit many places in the world from Europe to Latin America, South East Asia, USA and Australia. However as Dorothy in the film "The Wizard of Oz" says: "There is no place like home" and so after working for a global tour operator I have settled back in Bath where I am surrounded by a beautiful city, lovely countryside and my family. Today I take great delight in showing visitors around my home city and the local area. If you are visiting Bath for the first time check out my Bath City Walking Tour which will give you a great introduction to the city. For those looking for a unique experience I have also created a tour where you can combine this with the opportunity to fly a hawk in the countryside which is an incredible experience. As I have a vehicle I also take visitors on tours of Stonehenge which is only 50 minutes from Bath as well as to other fascinating places such as Avebury, Wells, Cheddar and some of the charming villages around the city. The vehicle also allows me to do sightseeing transfers to/from Bath - from airports, ports and London. I can also customise tours and in the past I have taken visitors to Stately homes in the area e. g. Longleat House, Stourhead and to places like Salisbury Cathedral (which has a copy of the 1215 Magna Carta). If it is not an area of my expertise I will let you know. Do take a look at my reviews. In 2022 I was thrilled to win the "Experience of the Year" category in the regional tourism awards. My goal is to give you a wonderful experience during your stay. I hope I will meet you and have the chance to show you around my home city and the area that I affectionately call the West Country. Experience of the Year Gold Award in the 2021/22 Bristol Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards. All licenses required to transport passengers in my vehicle. Member of Visit Bath (Bath's official tourism organisation). Born and raised in Bath and experienced global traveller! NONE

Overview of your Bath tour

This day-tour from Bath will allow you to explore the region's unique scenery, visit a magnificent cathedral and sample a famous local produce - Cheddar cheese! The charming city of Wells is home to my favourite cathedral in the region. In addition to its stunning architecture it is home to the world's 2nd oldest working clock and some of the best medieval stained glass windows in Europe. I will show you this and more during our tour of the city. Cheddar cheese was invented near Bath at a place called . . . Cheddar! We will visit a small cheese factory where you can learn how this cheese is traditionally made and taste some authentic Cheddar cheese. The factory offers a VIP experience so if you like cheese please get in touch before booking for more details! The Cheddar area is also renowned for its caves and England's largest gorge. The gorge is my favourite scenery in the region. We will drive through the gorge and you will have the option to climb to a fantastic viewpoint before we return to Bath.

Your Bath tour itinerary

‱ I will collect you at 8:30am from Bath and drive you to Wells, 1 hour away. ‱ I will take you on a 2-hour walking tour of Wells. We will visit the Market Place, Wells Cathedral and Vicars Close. We will also stop at the Bishops Palace (we do not go inside the Palace). ‱ After lunch at a local pub we will drive to a small Cheddar cheese factory in Cheddar, approx. 25 minutes from Wells. We will visit their Visitor Centre to learn how Cheddar cheese is traditionally made and taste their different cheeses. ‱ After visiting Cheddar we will drive through the spectacular Cheddar Gorge and stop to walk to a fantastic viewpoint over the gorge. The 30-minute walk to the viewpoint includes a steep 15-minute ascent on uneven ground which can be muddy and slippery when there has been rain so this stop is optional depending upon your interest and level of mobility - I can alternatively drive you to a great viewpoint over the local area. ‱ After visiting the gorge we will take a scenic 55-minute drive back to Bath.

Transport details
Type: Private Transportation / Category: Other

I will drive you in my air-conditioned vehicle - a Ford Galaxy. I am licensed to carry 6 passengers. The 2 seats in the 3rd row can accommodate adults but I would advise against these for tall adults. If you would like to climb to the gorge viewpoint you will need sturdy shoes as the trail is an uneven rocky path which can get muddy and slippery when there has been rain.
