The World Heritage City of BATH, the historic port and city of BRISTOL, ancient STONEHENGE, the picturesque COTSWOLDS, SALISBURY CATHEDRAL and the MAGNA CARTA, WELLS and GLASTONBURY; just some of the local highlights I can share with you. I am a 'top of the range' UK 'Blue Badge Guide', the highest professional qualification for tour guiding in the UK (see Credentials). You have the comfort and security of knowing that I am fully trained, licensed, insured and accredited with all the relevant tourism authorities, with many years experience. I am a genuine 'local'. I grew up and went to school here and I served locally as a police officer for 30 years. I know the region inside out, including many of the hidden corners, local stories and unexpected gems rarely mentioned in guide books. My own travelling has included much of Europe, including some of Eastern Europe 'post-communism', 21 states of the USA, Canada (Vancouver to Nova Scotia), Australia, New Zealand, India, Morocco, Hong Kong, Singapore and Mauritius so I know what it is like to be a visitor in unfamiliar territory! I have published a number of suggested tours which may be booked as read. Alternatively you are welcome to treat them as templates to amend to suit your wishes. Some can be adapted as SHORE EXCURSIONS from cruise ships docked in Bristol. Please note that prices quoted assume pick-up and drop-off is local to Bath/Bristol, and be aware that the cost is for the tour, NOT per person.. All tours are private, exclusive and personal. Tapping into my local knowledge and contacts allows us to cut corners so that you can concentrate on the "must-do's" instead of wasting precious time plodding through brochures, schedules, and websites. You can opt for one of my listed tours, or I welcome the opportunity to work with you to create a customised tour to match your interests, schedule or pace. I am always open to the possibility of doing something special or 'out of the ordinary' - we can even start from scratch. If transport is necessary I hire a vehicle and driver so that I can concentrate on ensuring you are able to enjoy the tour, without worrying about traffic hold-ups and parking. Feel free to 'message' me - without obligation - for a memorable, stress-free and enjoyable tour. I look forward to hearing from you. *UK "Blue Badge" registered tourist guide. *Member of the Institute of Tourist Guiding *Member of the British Guild of Tourist Guides *Completed Disability Awareness Training Course by VisitEngland/Bath Tourism Plus. Certificate awarded; 'Customer Service to Disabled Visitors'. *Blue Badge Guide endorsement - Wells Cathedral *Certificate from Disclosure & Barring Service - no criminal convictions I am based Bath/Bristol. Where transport is required I can arrange for private executive class transport appropriate for the number of passengers, and driver.

Overview of your Bath tour

STONEHENGE is a world-famous prehistoric monument designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. I first visited it as a teenager when I picnicked amongst the stones. It now receives more than 1. 5 million visitors per annum. The attractive city of SALISBURY which received its charter in 1227 is just 8 miles from Stonehenge. It has been an administrative, commercial, & religious center since medieval times. A traditional market is still held every Tuesday & Saturday throughout the year. The cathedral is a fine example of Early English architecture dating from the 13th century with a spire that is the highest in the UK. It contains the world's oldest working clock (1386) and it houses the best-preserved of the 4 surviving copies of the Magna Carta. To avoid overcrowding entry to Stonehenge & Salisbury Cathedral is by timed ticket, bookable online in advance. You can do this yourself or I can do this on your behalf and include it in the cost of the tour, but please message me BEFORE booking.

We had a very informative and fun day with Mike and our driver. We beat the crowds and were able to take lots of fun photos. Stonehenge is quite unbelievable and Mike was able to explain all the extra interesting pieces of information about it. Lunch was at a pub and we all enjoyed it. Salisbury is definitely worth a look around. The cathedral is gorgeous and has a very interesting story. Mike was again able to point out extra things that you miss without a guide.

Mike was incredibly accommodating and a joy to have on tour with us! He adjusted pick-up times to make sure we didn't miss a thing and managed to work in a few extra photo stops. Great knowledge of the history and the area. Overall, a great day!

Mike helped my family plan the perfect day in Stonehenge, Salisbury and Lacock. He was knowledgeable and reliable, and went above and beyond to accommodate our schedule. He also helped arrange for our driver, Nathan, to meet us at the airport the day before. For a visit to Bath and the surrounding area we heartily recommend Mike!

We presented quite a challenge to our wonderful guide, Mike R. We had 3 couples, most of us retired, one in wheelchair, one with cane, one almost completely blind and one visually handicapped. We asked for pick up at our Southampton hotel, with all luggage & musical instruments, then a tour of Stonehenge, swing through Salisbury, then on to our ship. Mike handled all, had information available for all of our varied interests, and treated us with humour, elegance and concern. Book with confidence!
