Christian Heritage Tour - Shore Excursion in Ephesus, Turkey

Did you know that Asia Minor is actually Turkey? Or that Antioch, the city where Christians were first called Christians is here in Turkey? Not only that, but the apostle Paul was born in these lands and gave his most important preach in Ephesus. . . Knowing Turkey as a muslim country, everything above may surprise you… but this is just the beginning, since I'm sure that visiting Ephesus and its surroundings will refresh a lot of information you have read in the Bible and Christian history in general. For example, when Jesus was crucified, he entrusted his beloved mother to St. John, who came to live in Ephesus with Mother Mary. On this tour we'll even visit the house of Virgin Mary, located in a very peaceful area and on top of a mountain called Bulbul. It is one of the pilgrimage centre of Christians. Today, it is a church, open for mass. On the other hand, St John's Basilica was one of the largest churches in the ancient time, and we'll also get to visit it. The following itinerary is customizable:

•The tour will begin with us meeting in front of the Kusadasi Port Passenger Terminal or in your hotel in the Kusadasi area. •Starting to explore Ephesus, we'll visit the Roman baths and the Temple of Domitianus, uncovering the story of St. John. •We proceed to walk the streets where Saint Paul and Timothy had walked too. •Next we'll pass by Trajan's Fountain. •Then we'll visit Hadrian's Temple. •Afterwards we'll visit Celcus Library. •We'll then reach the Agora, where St. Paul preached, and the great theater with its amazing story. •Next stop is Mother Mary Church (do not confuse with house of Mary). •We'll drive from Ephesus to the house of Virgin Mary where she spent her last days, a small and peaceful house. •At the end we'll visit St. John's Basilica. After taking a photo of the ruins, the tomb of St. John and finally the model of the Basilica, we'll go back to our vehicle to return to Kusadasi. Meanwhile as we start going back, we will take in the great panoramic views of Selcuk Town.
