Hello! I’m Mithat. My story with history began when I was a child walking through the mosaic museum in my hometown, Antioch (Antakya). I remember staring at the giant mosaics of dancing Nymphs and thinking: “Someone should tell the stories behind these!” Well… that “someone” eventually became me. I grew up in Antioch, one of the most ancient cities of the world, where every street hides layers of history and every neighborhood tells stories in different languages, cultures, and traditions. Archaeology, art, architecture, and religious history have fascinated me ever since. Since 2004 I have been living in Kuşadası, right next to the legendary ancient city of Ephesus. Since 2010 I have been working as a full-time professional tour guide, welcoming cruise travelers from all over the world and bringing the ancient city to life. If you are interested in Biblical history, Ephesus is one of the most powerful places you can visit. The Apostle Paul preached here for nearly three years, and the city is one of the Seven Churches mentioned in the Book of Revelation. Walking through Ephesus while discussing the events described in the New Testament creates a truly unforgettable experience. My goal is simple: to connect the past and the present with engaging stories, fascinating details, and a touch of humor. What an experience! Our Ephesus tour led by Mithat was a cruise highlight. Mithat was very informative, moved at our pace, and ensured that we had a great time. He suggested the "house" tour at Ephesus, which was a small additional cost - but what an amazing suggestion! The home excavation was a tour highlight, and we were so appreciative for his recommendation. This is absolutely a must see in Ephesus. The day was hot, and Mithat suggested we wear sunscreen and a hat - he was absolutely right! From the moment we met (his instructions were very clear regarding the meeting point) to the included transportation (easy access, AC, and great driver) to the Ephesus excavation visit (including home tour) to the basilica visit to the delicious local lunch (literally the best meal of our entire vacation) to the visit at a local artisanal ceramics facility....the day was filled with wonder, sites, and educational knowledge. If your travels take you to Ephesus, I highly recommend booking a tour with Mithat. You will not be disappointed!
Mithad is wonderful!! He is not only knowledgeable but he has a true passion for biblical archaeology! He taught us so much in the short time that we had and never made us feel as though a question was too remedial. Because he had a driver, we were able to learn from him and ask questions throughout the tour. We were with our family of 5 and visited the House of Mary, Ephesus and we went to a leather shop at the end. We ended up purchasing a high end leather piece but there was no pressure to buy. The van was luxurious and comfortable. Would highly recommend putting together any variety of tours that Mithad offers! We look forward to booking with him again.

He showed us everything we wanted to see at Ephesus, and he picked a route that circumvented the heavy flow of tourists. I would highly recommend him as a very personable and knowledgeable guide.
We had a great day with Mithat. He picked us up at the cruise port with clear direction on how to find him. We had a good tour of Ephesus, where he was very knowledgeable about the site and its history. We visited a pottery cooperative and a carpet maker. Mithat was very happy to talk about the local area and Turkyie in a more general sense. He answered all of our questions. He took us for the best lunch. Explaining all the dishes and helping us order. We would recommend this tour!
