Let me introduce myself to you; Lets start with my name. I have a famous name in Turkey. Not only it is a name of an old Turkish empire during the 11th century, but also it is name of a small town of Izmir which is nearby Ephesus. So, during my Ephesus tours you can see my name everywhere :) I was born in Demirci (a small town of Manisa which is in west part of Turkey). I started my education there. 5 years primary, 4 years secondary and 3 years high school. When I was 12, my dream started. That means I started to learn English. At the high school I chose foreign language part which was all English. Actually at school we learn more grammar than speaking. So, during the summer season, when schools were off, I started to go to Marmaris which is a resort town mostly for British people. I started to get practice for speaking. By the way, when I was there I was working as a receptionist, waiter or barman in the hotels. I saw some guides who were coming there with their groups. I was interested in their jobs. I said to myself "I should go to university for having that job. " After high school I went to Ankara University in the field of Tourism Guidance.I studied history and architecture of Greek,Roman,Byzantine,Selcuk Turks and Ottoman Empire ,mythology,history of religions. I finished my education in 2009 and started to work as a guide. In the other words I achieved my goal :) Now I live in Izmir the third largest of Turkey. I am married. My wife, Seher is also a guide. Selcuk was a great guide. We enjoyed the time we spent with him and learned so much. I had been to Ephesus before and still I learned things I had not heard before which is always a wonderful thing. It was great to do an afternoon tour because the cruise guests were almost gone and Ephesus was not too crowded. We enjoyed the leather workshop he took us to and the place he recommended for dinner. He had a great driver that works with him.
Actually Selçuk fell ill and arranged a substitute-Polat. He was amiable, had a good sense of humor, but most of all he was extremely knowledgeable. He took us to places of interest and adapted the tour to suit our wants. We would use him again and again.
Sel was terrific. We were a party of 6 and part of Sel’s job was to keep us together as well as to offer his extensive knowledge about the sights we visited. He excelled in both. We all agreed on 5 stars for an outstanding guide.
Selcuk was wonderful and we would recommend him to anyone wishing to see and understand the history of Ephesus - most pleasant and informative company and our group of six friends all were very pleased with his tour and spending a day with him.

Pope Paul VI visited the shrine in 1967, Pope John Paul II also visited the shrine in 1979. Pope Benedict XVI visited this shrine in 2006. *After that, we will visit Ephesus which is one of the best well-kept Greco-Roman ancient city in the world, famous with Odeon, Temples, Library; theatre where is one of the biggest with 24. 000 people capacity and St. Paul preached; Roman Baths ; Fountains; Temples; Agora; Love House; Public Toilets;etc. *After Ephesus, we visit Temple of Artemis which is one of the seven wonders of Ancient time. *If you want We can have a traditional lunch in the area. *Also you have some more time for shopping in local places. *At the end dropping you back to the port.
