Hej, I'm Frankie, your local Stockholm guide! I'm originally from Canada but have made Stockholm my chosen home since 2020. I'm passionate about culture, history, anthropology, sociology, design and architecture. I first came to Sweden to pursue a Joint Master's of Science in Biotechnology at 3 top universities: Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm University, and KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Since graduating, I have also studied Swedish history, lifestyle, culture, art, and urban planning. My knowledge is therefore split between the natural sciences & technology and the social sciences. When I travel, I'm always looking for authenticity and new ways to experience the world. So as a local guide, I tend to recommend the hidden gems and the hole in the wall, mom-and-pop shops that most tourists (and even fellow locals) don't know about. I love to share my passion for Stockholm as a storyteller and filmmaker on YouTube, too. Listen to my podcast, "Somewhere in Stockholm" on Spotify if you want a little introduction to the city's most interesting people and places. Looking forward to meeting you on one of my tours! Let's experience Swedish culture together!

Ever wondered what it’s like to live on one of Stockholm’s 30,000 islands? The archipelago lifestyle is unique, and we want you to experience it firsthand! That’s why I created this Vaxholm experience— at the heart of the Stockholm archipelago. Travel like a local, soak in the idyllic coastal scenery, and explore rich history. From a centuries-old military fortress to charming fishermen’s homes and the vibrant Baltic Sea shores, there’s something for everyone. 🏊♂️ Bring a swimsuit for a swim! 🍽 Pack a lunch for a picnic by the beach. Just 1 hour outside of Stockholm, Vaxholm is a summer paradise where past and present meet.
We meet in front of the National Museum’s metallic sculpture 15 min before departure. Look for your guide in an orange “Xperience Stockholm” hat. 🚢 10 AM: We take a steamboat to Vaxholm, passing stunning archipelago islands. Your guide will share insights on local life. 🏰 11:30 AM: Arrival at Vaxholm. A taxi boat takes us to Vaxholm Fortress, a historic military stronghold. We’ll explore and climb the main tower for breathtaking views. *Optional:* Visit the fortress museum. 🍽 Lunch: Eat at a local café/restaurant or enjoy a picnic by the Baltic Sea (bring your own or buy on the spot) 🏡 Afternoon: Stroll past old fishermen’s homes, visit City Hall’s council room, and explore local artisan shops. ☕Final stop: A cozy coastal café for Swedish fika ("coffee break") with homemade cakes. ⛴ 4 PM: Return boat to Stockholm.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
