Hej! Hi! Most welcome to Stockholm and Sweden! My name is Anette and I would love to show you the beautiful city of Stockholm and the interesting surroundings. I was born in the city and I lived here all my life. I would like to share my city with you, and tell you all the great stories and the history of Stockholm. With two grown up sons, I went back to university and studied to become a teacher in history and business economics. I have been a teacher at a high-school for many years. Experience 3-hours walking tour in two very unique but different buildings in Stockholm
Overview of your Stockholm tour
We will visit the City hall of Stockholm, probably the biggest architectural project during the 20th century (in Sweden), an unique building ready in 1923. Maybe most famous for the yearly Nobel prize dinner. Beautiful halls in a national romantic style with influences from the nordic gothic and Italian renaissance. Several leading Swedish artist at the time contributed to the beautiful interior design. We will then walk via the medieval Riddarholmen to the part of Stockholm called the Old Town and visit the royal palace of Stockholm. The palace is today the "office" for the king and queen of Sweden. Since 1981 they live at Drottningholm palace outside Stockholm. The royal palace of Stockholm has been on the spot since the 11th century. From the beginning a defensive castle that the Vasa kings turned into a renaissance palace that burned to the ground in 1697. It took 57 years to build the new palace with an baroque exterior that you can see today. It is one of the larger palaces in Europe.

We will then see the house of nobility and end the walking at the royal palace. The Royal Palace of Stockholm the State apartments, the Guest apartments and the Bernadotte apartments The walk will include the state-, guest- and the Bernadotte apartments. The tour will include, -The Hall of State -The western Stair case - Gustav III State Bedchamber -Karl XI Gallery In the end of the tour we will discuss the lists I sent you about top attractions/restaurants/bars/coffee and lunch places.
