Hello - my name is Jessica and welcome to Sweden - Välkommen! I am so happy you have chosen to travel to Sweden and visit Stockholm - my home city where I have lived half of my life. I will be travelling in Europe this winter and will be back mid-June 2026 and look forward to showing you Stockholm then. Whether you are here for a long visit or just for short while - I would love to show you my home town and introduce you to our Swedish culture and traditions whilst showing you some unique parts of Stockholm and its surroundings, places that are off the beaten track as well as all the "must sees"! I would like to offer you a very Swedish experience. If, before your trip, you would like to get an in depth knowledge of Swedish Culture and Stockholm I have published a book about Stockholm introducing foreigners, expats and diplomats to 'the Swedish way of life' - you will find it on Amazon under the title "Stockholm, Sweden - At Your Fingertips". I also had the honour of guiding Rick Steves in Stockholm in 2023 as he needed to update his book after the pandemic. As a daughter of a Swedish diplomat I have lived abroad half of my life - in Belgium, Kenya, Israel, Greece etc. and what a fantastic world this is! Now I would like to share with you "my world" here in Sweden. I would love to show you the sights and sounds of Stockholm. Experience the old and new City. If you have already been here before, why not let me show you the tranquil suburb of Lidingö - away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Maybe a hike through one of our nature reserves, visit a farm from the 18th century and for the hardy, maybe a dip in the lake. Are there other places you would like to visit or just a tailor-made shopping tour in the city of Stockholm? No problem, just let me know. When I am not out guiding or with my family, I work with expats, newcomers and diplomats introducing them to our Swedish culture, ways and traditions - helping them feel at home here in Sweden. I would like to show you Sweden at its best, so you can get the most out of your visit here in Stockholm. Join me for a very Swedish experience! I look forward to welcoming you to Stockholm and its surroundings! Overview of your Stockholm tour

I would like to show you where the Swedes have their specialty stores and market halls. Wonderful Restaurants that are not tourist traps and where you can eat a traditional Swedish meal. Places where Swedes go to enjoy a simple meal or just a place to contemplate and watch the world go by. But also, of course show you the must see's whilst you are here. Join me on this tour and then if you are staying a while you will know which places you would like to go back to on your own.

Jessica was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. Also, very personable. We enjoyed her company, just the right amount of talking at each stop, kept the tour moving, which was especially nice. I would highly recommend her.

We were a group of 4 Australians & all loved our tour with Jessica. She took us on a leisurely walk through myriad places that show a variety of the things that contribute to the history & culture of Stockholm. Markets, food, architecture, gardens & history - old & more recent- all formed part of our tour. We would strongly recommend Jessica.

Jessica arrived promptly, has a most congenial energy and speaks excellent English. She is very knowledgeable, listens to the interests of her guests and included many interesting facts en route to our foodie destinations. We sampled foods typical of Sweden with time to buy. We had several mini-lessons on foods e.g. the three types of salmon, gourmet licorice and breakfast rolls. She recommended a medium priced restaurant that served delicious typical Swedish food for dinner, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Excellent tour, and Jessica was very good with the two children throughout, with things to keep their attention and interest. Learned much about Stockholm as well as the food that was the tour's focus. Of course the candy-making at Polkagris Kokeri was the highlight for the children, but it was also interesting for their parents.

Jessica is a great guide who's passion for the city, food and culinairy culture is contagious. She knows the city and the people, and we had a wonderfull insight in culinairy Stockholm, with great insights and new things to see. Customizing the tour to our special wishes was not a problem at all. Many thanks Jessica for the tour, and we might come back!

Jessica was so well-informed, so well-attuned to what we wanted and such a lovely person. Despite the rain, we managed an awesome day. She was even willing to change the date of our tour to avoid the rain, but we decided to just go for it and it was great. In the days following our tour, we realized how valuable it really was and how much we learned from Jessica. Highly recommended!

Your Stockholm tour itinerary

We will walk through the food market area where I will point out Swedish specialties. Show you places seldom seen by tourists and you might like to experience some unusual tastes on the way. - At some point if you get hungry we can always stop for something light like a very Swedish 'Fika' - or you might like to end your tour at some nice traditional restaurant that I can recommend to you, where you can enjoy something typically Swedish on your own! - Ever tried a really salty liquorice? What is a princess cake? And why do some Swedes have a protruding or bulging upper lip? - I will show you places that are a bit off the beaten track and popular amongst the Swedes. - I will also provide you with a map and mark out the areas of interest, should you wish to return there on your own at a later stage.
