Hello - my name is Jessica and welcome to Sweden - Välkommen! I am so happy you have chosen to travel to Sweden and visit Stockholm - my home city where I have lived half of my life. I will be travelling in Europe this winter and will be back mid-June 2026 and look forward to showing you Stockholm then. Whether you are here for a long visit or just for short while - I would love to show you my home town and introduce you to our Swedish culture and traditions whilst showing you some unique parts of Stockholm and its surroundings, places that are off the beaten track as well as all the "must sees"! I would like to offer you a very Swedish experience. If, before your trip, you would like to get an in depth knowledge of Swedish Culture and Stockholm I have published a book about Stockholm introducing foreigners, expats and diplomats to 'the Swedish way of life' - you will find it on Amazon under the title "Stockholm, Sweden - At Your Fingertips". I also had the honour of guiding Rick Steves in Stockholm in 2023 as he needed to update his book after the pandemic. As a daughter of a Swedish diplomat I have lived abroad half of my life - in Belgium, Kenya, Israel, Greece etc. and what a fantastic world this is! Now I would like to share with you "my world" here in Sweden. I would love to show you the sights and sounds of Stockholm. Experience the old and new City. If you have already been here before, why not let me show you the tranquil suburb of Lidingö - away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Maybe a hike through one of our nature reserves, visit a farm from the 18th century and for the hardy, maybe a dip in the lake. Are there other places you would like to visit or just a tailor-made shopping tour in the city of Stockholm? No problem, just let me know. When I am not out guiding or with my family, I work with expats, newcomers and diplomats introducing them to our Swedish culture, ways and traditions - helping them feel at home here in Sweden. I would like to show you Sweden at its best, so you can get the most out of your visit here in Stockholm. Join me for a very Swedish experience! I look forward to welcoming you to Stockholm and its surroundings! When you have been on this tour, you will have a pretty good idea of the layout of Stockholm and I hope, feel a bit at home in my city - knowing a lot of interesting new trivia about us Swedes. We will wander through the cobbled stoned alleys of the medieval old town "Gamla Stan" where there is lots to see. Then we will make our way by boat to the green lush "Djurgarden" where many of my favourite museums are. I hope you will join me on this "Tour of Stockholm" so I can show you my home town! Welcome. If you are staying longer I will be happy to provide you with maps as well as other useful information such as recommendations for good restaurants, other places to visit etc. Välkommen!
We had an amazing tour with Jessica through Stockholm. Jessica is extremely knowledgeable and personable, definitely one of the top guides we've ever had. We had our two year old son with us and she was very accommodating with him and found ways to include him. Would definitely recommend booking a tour with Jessica if you are visiting Stockholm!
Jessica was one of the best tour guides we have ever had. She was able to present Stockholm in a way that we truly remember most of the information that she presented. She didn't overwhelm us with too much information but through a very carefully choreographed tour she was able to help us learn about Swedish history as well as present day. She was delightful to spend time with and made great suggestion for our remaining 3 days. I would highly recommend her!
Jessica was one of the best tour guides that we’ve ever had! She was extremely knowledgable and answered all of our questions. The pace of the tour was perfect. She gave us fantastic restaurant suggestions.
We had a group of nine people visiting Stockholm and found Jessica D to be the best tour guide that any of us had ever experienced!!! We had a fabulous time on her tours! She was very knowledgeable and fun! We highly recommend her!!!!!!
Our group of four spent a delightful three hours with Jessica touring Stockholm. She’s extremely knowledgeable across a wide range of topics relevant to developing an appreciation of the city - art, history, culture, food, etc. - and she was able to focus our tour in a way that responded to our interests. Stockholm is a beautiful city with a rich history. Spending time with Jessica will enhance your understanding of it in a wonderful way.
Excellent tour by Jessica! She took us all over the city and gave us very valuable information on everything we saw, as well as what to do next during our stay. She is very kind and knowledgeable and wonderful to be with. We would absolutely book her again for future visits to this beautiful city. The Vasa museum was a standout! Also the food and shopping recommendations she gave us were great. We loved the food hall and city hall tour (recs). Thanks for a great time in Stockholm - we are staying an extra night to enjoy the city!
We will meet up at a designated meeting point centrally in the city (your hotel or somewhere we agree upon) and make our way to the old town "Gamla Stan" with the Royal Palace, the Nobel museum, the Cathedral etc. Here we can spend a lot of time but once you have had "enough" of the old town, we board the ferry boat over to Djurgarden. On the way, if you feel like it, we can stop for a nice Swedish "fika" (a coffee and something sweet). On Djurgarden are many museums such as the Vasa museum, the ABBA museum, the open air museum "Skansen" as well as the Viking museum. If there is one museum, I believe you should not miss I suggest visiting the Vasa Museum with me. We can either end the tour on Djurgarden where I recommend you have lunch at the famous Ulla Winbladh - maybe some Swedish meatballs with lingonberries (or if you are really adventurous then try some pickled herring for starters?) or back to the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
Mostly walking or local transportion by bus, tram and/or ferry. You can pay for local transportation with a credit card each and costs approximately $4/person. Please be aware that there are plenty of cobbled stoned streets, these can be uneven and sometimes a bit difficult to walk on so wear comfortable shoes.
