Hello! My name is Enrique and I was born and raised in Toledo. My love for my beautiful hometown started at a very young age, because my whole family has been guiding tours in Toledo for the last 50 years (my grandfather, my father, my uncle, my brother and my cousin!). I am so proud of continuing my family tradition, as an Official Tour Guide for the last 13 years now! My family and I have always lived in the historical district of Toledo, so I know every single corner in it! I really love my job, and every day is a gift to me. It is such a pleasure to make people understand a city with more than 2000 years of history! Plenty of monuments and historical spots, Toledo is entirely a UNESCO World Heritage site! But in my opinion, a good tour guide must be able to make his travellers enjoy the city, and not only by visiting the very important monuments, but also by getting to know the local traditions, manners, festivities, sweets, food and wines, etc. I love these kind of extras that will make you taste the real Toledo, and this is something easier to do in private tours for small groups (families, couples, . . . ), which is, by the way, what I like the most! I'm a very open minded and flexible person, so I can adapt the tour to your specific interests! Just let me know! It would be my pleasure to show you everything about Toledo! Regards, Enrique - Officially Licensed Tour Guide by the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha. - Degree in Tourism by the "Spanish Center for New Professions" (U.N.E.D. University, Madrid). I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

The three main monotheistic religions present in Spain were able to live together in Toledo for almost 600 years, and that's why Toledo is commonly known as "The City of the Three Cultures". We will cover the historical district entirely walking across its stoned streets, and visit the most representative monuments of the aforementioned cultures. You will see how The Primate Cathedral of Spain, the country's most important catholic temple to this day, perfectly represents the power of the Catholic Church here. In regards to the Jewish heritage, Santa María la Blanca is the name of the oldest (and still standing) former synagogue in Spain, which was also the main synagogue of the most important jewish community in our country in the middle ages. As for muslim heritage, there is just one Mosque present in Toledo: The Mosque of Cristo de la Luz: one of only 10 mosques that the muslims built during their domain. Let me tell you about Spain's traditions, festivities, handicrafts, gastronomy and more.
If you're coming by train, we'd start the tour together from Toledo's Train Station, where I'd be waiting for you holding a sign with your name on it, so you could easily find me at the platform. If you're coming in a private vehicle, we could agree on an easy to find meeting point to start the tour from. -We'd start by doing a panoramic tour in a taxi (up to 3 travellers plus me) to enjoy the amazing views from the other side of the Tagus River and then get to the city center. If your were to come to Toledo in your own car, and there was an available seat for me, we could do this as well. -We'd then cross the entire historical district, focusing mostly on these highlights: ·The Primate Cathedral ·The Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca ·The Mosque of Cristo de la Luz When we finish the tour, and in case you want to have lunch or dinner in Toledo, I can give my suggestions depending on what you like. This itinerary could be customized to best meet your specific preferences.
