My name is Laura and I am a passionate official tour guide and I try to show visitors the essence of my hometown, the unique and memorable places. I've been working full time as a tour guide for over 6 years and I hope I can continue for many more. This is the place that made me who I am today and made me feel what I feel today when I go to work, when I walk around its narrow streets (where I used to play), around the Jewish quarter (where my grandma used to live and the place she had to leave in the Civil War), around the convent area (that quiet and fascinating area that surprises me every single day), when I cross the two stunning bridges we have and when I realize that to go to work is a pleasure. There is an indescribable charm about this town. That is why I am a proud official local guide of the beautiful City of the Three Cultures. The Jewish Quarter of Toledo is an important place regarding Sephardic culture in the Iberian Peninsula. My visit will include the following: - Synagogue "El Tránsito" or "Samuel Leví": This synagogue was built in the 14th century. The name Samuel ha-Levi corresponds to the treasurer of King Pedro I of Castille. The synagogue shows one of the most beautiful examples of Mudéjar style in Hispanic-Jewish legacy. The beauty of the wooden roof is one of the special details that highlights this building (closed on Mondays and Sunday afternoons); - Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, formerly the main synagogue in Toledo until it was converted into a church at the end of the 14th century; - Franciscan Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes: An essential visit to understand the connection between the Catholic Monarchs (the monastery was created as their burial site), and the last moments experienced by the Jewish community in Spain before their expulsion.
Laura was the best! What everyone would want in someone showing them a new city - she was so knowledgeable, shared so many interesting facts, clearly loved her city, had a wonderful way with our teenagers (not easy!). And everywhere we went, we would bump into someone else who knew her (and who told us she’s the best!). Toledo is a beautiful place, and we were so happy to have Laura show us around!

She is extremely knowledgeable and it's amazing to learn all the history and small nuances of the city. She is very friendly and related to everyone in our group really well - we felt very lucky to have her as our guide!
We enjoyed our time with Laura. She did a good job disseminating information, working with a slight mobility issue with one person in our group, and keeping the conversation dynamic. She made a few recommendations for things to do after the tour (dinner, photo ops) and all were great.

- We can meet at the train station (if you are coming by train from Madrid: 20 euros go and return) or at Bisagra Gate if coming by private car. I recommend you to get the train that arrives at 9.50. Monuments open at 10 - We will take a taxi and go to enjoy the panoramic view of the city from the other side of the river Tagus where we will stop and take pictures (the taxi will cost approximately 20 euros. 4 persons per taxi. Taxi is not included in the price). - Then, we will visit the two stunning synagogues of the town ("Saint Mary the White" and "El Tránsito"). We will go inside. - We will also visit the Franciscan Monastery of Saint John of the Monarchs or the cathedral, depending on your preferences; (Tickets for monuments are not included in the price). - We will go around the Jewish quarter, enjoying the narrow streets and the Jewish culture. *The itinerary can be adapted to traveller's interests: do no hesitate to contact me for a customized tour.
