For a graduate of Tourism with a degree in Art History, there is surely no better place to establish a career as a Tour Guide than in the marvelous city of Toledo. My vast work experience has taken me through the diverse sectors of the world of tourism and art (travel agencies, transfer escort, exhibit coordinator at Madrid's Reina Sofia Museum and accompanying group guide throughout Central Europe for twelve years). Experiences that have contributed to my cultural and professional development and that today add to my richness as an Official Tour Guide of Toledo, licensed by the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha. I have been working as a guide continuously since 2007 and hope to continue for many more to come. If it is your first time visiting Toledo, you will feel the need to understand the city, find your way around and absorb its essence. There is no better way to do this than to explore the city's historic core and discover its monuments and most significant works of art: The Cathedral, Must-see monument in a city where the archbishop holds the Primacy of Spain. It is one of the richest and most spectacular in the country (closed on Sunday morning). Church of Santo Tomé and the "Burial of the Lord of Orgaz". Never been moved from its original spot, El Greco's masterpiece was painted especially for this chapel. Synagogue of El Tránsito. A glowing example of the mark made by the Sephardic Jews in Toledo and a monument, along with the Cathedral, which mustn't be missed. Franciscan Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, Intended as the burial place of the Catholic Monarchs, its luxury and decor are worthy of those very monarchs that constituted Spain. Duration: The tour will last around 3 hours-3 hours and a half.
We had the best tour of Toledo with Adolfo! We found the city absolutely adorable, quaint yet full of history. And Adolfo was the perfect guide to not only show us around but to also paint the history behind the walls of the city. We would recommend touring Toledo as it was our favorite stop in our 2 week time in Spain, but if you’re able to snag Adolfo you will get a wonderful day with someone who not only knows the city, but from someone who loves their city!
We had a fantastic tour with Adolfo. He was friendly, personable and approachable. Very relaxed pace with no rush. Easy walking. As author of a book on the religious history of Toledo, he was incredibly insightful into background of this stunning city. We got the Renfe fast train from Madrid, which was very easy. With Adolfo’s lunch recommendation we had a fantastic day that was very memorable. Recommend Toledo and Adolfo as your guide.
It was incredibly enjoyable and resulted in Toledo being one of our most memorable stops on the tour through Spain. In great measure, it was Adolfo and the context, history and knowledge which he shared with us one second.

I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to learn more about Toledo and its fascinating history. One thing to plan for is the entrance fee to various places you will see on the route and the taxi for the must-see panoramic view of the city. Gracias Adolfo!
What a treat! Adolfo is a Toledo treasure! He knows everything about the city and we were so lucky he was available to do a tour when we were there. Adolfo showed us the key sites and gave us the incredibly interesting history behind them. He also introduced us to owners of the artisan shops and gave us some recommendations for lunch. We chose one of the spots he recommended and it was excellent. Ten stars for this tour!
Adolfo did a great job of showing us the magic of his city, Toledo. He’s a wealth of knowledge and wonderful to spend the afternoon with.
If you are coming by train from Madrid (20 euros go and return) I will be waiting for you at the Toledo Train Station, or at the Bisagra Gate if coming by private car. If by train, we could make a panoramic tour with a taxi to get to the city centre and enjoy the wonderful panoramic view from the other side of the Tagus river (11 euros per taxi. 4 people per taxi). Or, we could get to the old town by walking in a beautiful 15 minutes walk. We will cross the entire old town during the tour paying visit to the monuments included in the itinerary (tickets not included in the price). Even though the walking tour has a common thread I will make alussion to every simple and important aspect of the city: handycrafts, cultural heritage, evolution of the old town, festivities, etc.
