My name is Laura and I am a passionate official tour guide and I try to show visitors the essence of my hometown, the unique and memorable places. I've been working full time as a tour guide for over 6 years and I hope I can continue for many more. I am also a sworn translator and interpreter by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and I have been travelling around the world to meet new people, to learn about new cultures and to be sure I can speak English in a bilingual way. Toledo holds a special place in my heart, it is my hometown. This is the place that made me who I am today and made me feel what I feel today when I go to work, when I walk around its narrow streets (where I used to play), around the Jewish quarter (where my grandma used to live and the place she had to leave in the Civil War), around the convent area (that quiet and fascinating area that surprises me every single day), when I cross the two stunning bridges we have and when I realize that to go to work is a pleasure. There is an indescribable charm about this town. That is why I am a proud official local guide of the beautiful City of the Three Cultures. This is the reason why I love to show visitors the important legacy we have in form of churches, synagogues and mosques. Let me show you the charm of Toledo. I am a very open minded person and I adapt the tour to your specific needs and to anything you may be interested in. It will be a pleasure. Warm regards from the beautiful Toledo. - Official Licensed Tour Guide - Degree in Translation and Interpreting I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Coming to Toledo is like going back to history and if you choose to enjoy this by the hands of a person from this unique place, it could be amazing. All my family has always lived in Toledo. Its narrow streets have been always my place. I can share with you my personal and adorable connection. The tour will be unique and you will feel the beautiful atmosphere around the town and I will show you the jewels behind its walls, beginning at the other side of the river Tagus, an essential element to understand the history of this stunning place. We will enjoy the city, we will feel its essence discovering the 3 cultures that are hidden in every piece of it, we'll explore its heart, its monuments and its most significant pieces of art. A lot of artists have lived here: El Greco, Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, Paco de Lucía, among others. The tour includes three of its stunning monuments as well as we will explore handicrafts, cultural heritage, and the evolution of the old town and its festivities. Sounds like a plan?

We had an absolutely wonderful tour with Laura Romero-Salazar. She met us as we de-boarded the train from Madrid and had a taxi waiting. She took us to the best panoramic view of Toledo and then on a walking tour of the town. She was warm, friendly, informative and fun to be with. She customized the tour to fit our interests and the weather (a quite hot day). She is a fantastic guide and i would highly recommend her!
We enjoyed our morning in Toledo with Laura and recommend her if you’re interested in seeing and learning about Toledo. It was wonderful to have a local guide meet us at the train station and guide us to the sights we wanted to see. We had a lovely time with her. Enjoy Toledo with Laura!
Laura R was an excellent guide. She made the history come alive for my 13 year old granddaughter and her 7 year old grandson. Very highly recommended.
Laura was a fantastic guide. Her passion for her city is very strong, and she’s very knowledgeable. She was also very flexible around our interests.
We had great tour with Laura through the streets of Toledo learning about the history of this unique city! Having a personal guide to answer questions and delve into the topics that were of interest to us made this an experience we have not had before. We came away with a better understanding of the deep history Toledo - and Spain - has and how events over the past many centuries have molded and shaped this area. Through Laura, we learned of even more events that we want to come back for - The Battle of the Organs in November and the Corpus Christi celebration!
- We will meet at the train station; - We will take a taxi (approx. 20 euros per taxi; 4 people per taxi. Taxi is not included in the price) and go to enjoy the panoramic view of the city from the other side of the river Tagus. I recommend you to get the train that arrives at 9.50. Monuments open at 10. Then, we will begin our walking tour. We will visit three out of these monuments: - The Franciscan Monastery of "San Juan de los Reyes" ("Saint John of the Monarchs") (the place intended to be the burial place of the Catholic Monarchs); - Synagogue "Saint Mary the White" (Sephardic Experience) or the Synagogue "El Tránsito" (Samuel ha-Leví) (closed on Mondays and Sunday afternoons); - The Church of Santo Tomé and the "Burial of the Lord of Orgaz" (the masterpiece of El Greco); - The Prime Cathedral of Spain (closed on Sunday mornings). (Tickets for monuments are not included in the price). *The itinerary can be adapted to traveller's interests: do no hesitate to contact me for a customized tour.
