Toledo - Private Tour - From Madrid with Car -

Pepe's Toledo tour was beyond expectations. His mastery of the history of the region, and the way he presents it is so interesting and engaging. It was a magnificent history lesson all in one day. A highlight of the tour was lunch in a local medieval home where the first floor that originally housed a business had been converted into a restaurant. So it is still functioning as it did in the middle ages as both a business and a home with family living quarters upstairs. The meal was absolutely delicious local cuisine, as we expected since Pepe also has a history working in Michelin restaurants. What a fascinating guy! We would never have thought to experience this had we been touring alone. Pepe also brought us by a gold filagree studio where the artisans practice the art for which Toledo is renowned. We found the prettiest little gold filagree plate which is now a souvenir of our time in Toledo. This was one of the best tours of our time in Spain. We may never do a group tour again after experiencing the difference of an expertly executed private tour. Thank you, Pepe!

My husband and I had an amazing visit to Toledo with Pepe. He communicated with me in advance about the pickup location and arrived exactly when he said he would. During the drive from Madrid he went into great detail about the Jews’ arrival in Spain and brought us up through the centuries to the Middle Ages. Once inside the old city walls, he provided background on the Spanish crusades, the inquisition, and the expulsion. Pepe’s detailed knowledge of history of biblical and ancient times, the Roman period, European conflicts, Spain, and Judaism combined to provide us with a true learning experience. I recommend Pepe highly as a guide, he made the difference, turning what would have been an ok day, into an important experience that will stay with us.

Fantastic tour. Hard to imagine a better guide for this tour. He is so knowledgeable while also being very personable. He can get into great depth if that’s what you want. We were in Spain for almost 3 weeks and we found it one of our most fascinating days in Spain.
