I'll keep you engage throughout the whole tour even during the hour long drive to/from the Basilica Montserrat. I will discuss with you many topics about Spain/Catalonia current and historical. I will meet you with a private driver and drop you off at the location of your choice. Montserrat, located 50 minutes away from Barcelona, is one of the most ancient Abbeys of Europe and a historic Natural Park. With its amazing forms it has become one of the most unique in the world. Besides nature, we will enjoy a visit inside the Basilica of the Abbey, that keeps the shrine of La Moreneta (the black Madonna) a wood carving image from the XII century, the patroness saint of Catalonia. As long as we can, we will match the time so that we can listen the boys choir, the oldest one in Europe. If you like hiking, I propose you an interesting itinerary on the mountain, which will show you the richness and singularity of this spot. However, if you prefer, we can visit the Art museum.
- Pick up from your accommodation or near port terminal - We'll take the highway, a great opportunity of seeing the Catalan countryside, to Montserrat (30 miles from Barcelona or 55 minutes). - Visit inside the Basilica where we will venerate the black Madonna - People (especially kids!!) love riding the Montserrat's famous cable car (Sant Joan). It can be a thrilling adventure in itself (optional) - Audiovisual show (15 minutes/optional) - Art Museum (optional) - Drop off at your accommodation or near the port terminal *In order to see the boy's choir starting at 1 pm, we should start the tour at 9. 30AM The itinerary can be adapted to traveller's interests: do not hesitate to contact me for a customized tour.
