I just love Girona. I'll tell you why: First, because of it's amazing Jewish heritage, visible in every corner. Second, because it is a time travel into medieval times an modernity hardly interferes in the old architecture. Girona medieval & Jewish Private Tour is a specialized 6 hour tour to the astonishing town in the Northern part of Catalonia. We'll drive to Girona town, 90 km North of Barcelona, in the Northern province of Catalonia, Spain. There we will be visiting the amazing Medieval town, one of the best preserved Medieval towns in Europe. Girona is reputed for its Jewish Quarter. We'll walk through the Jewish Quarter. You may visit the Jewish museum, if you have a special interest. Besides the Jewish Quarter, we will stroll in the area surrounding the astonishing cathedral, the widest single nave church in Gothic style in the World. We will discover the upper part of Girona with its Roman wall and stroll along it, for those who feel like doing a bit of an extra walk.
We spent the day with Mark visiting Girona. It was after the main tourist season, which made the exploration of the town even more enjoyable. Mark was very knowledgeable, about the history of the city, and the Jewish influence over the centuries. We highly recommend Mark for anyone who wants to explore outside Barcelona and visit a city which has a Jewish history and which still retains the old world charm and narrow streets for exploration.
We were two 77 year old grandparents traveling with our almost 16 year old grandson. The ride, about 60 mins long to Girona, Spain was filled with interesting conversation. We began our tour if ancient and medieval Girona exploring the history of the Romans, Catalonians, Visigoths and Jews through historic fact, supposition, architecture, study of varying governments and religious orders. Mark has a seemingly endless depth of Wisdom imparted in clear, understandable ways. What an unforgettable day!

He was prompt, punctual and very knowledgeable about both locations. He was able to tell us all about the history and folk tales about them all the time remaining courteous and attentive to any and all questions that we had. We were there at the time of the vote for secession from Spain and he addressed all the issues involved both historically,impartially and contemporarily .
