Hola!! I'm Dr. Tate C. an Official Catalan Tour Guide (skip the line guide), researcher and writer. Like Antoni Gaudí, I was born and raised in Reus, and also like him I moved to Barcelona for my college education. This city trapped both of us. Being a former university professor, today I combine my tours, with my writing and with my academic life: congresses, research, and publications. My scholar research allows you to dig deeper and ask plenty of questions . . . More depth than breath :-) For my tours I use my own set of Radioguides, what is commonly called whisperers or quiet boxes. I will talk to a microphone and you will have a tiny earphone, similar to an earring which will highly improve the quality of the visits, specially in noisy areas, inside the taxis, and of course. . . in La Sagrada Familia! Thanks to the whisperer system, you can take pictures and walk medium distances from the grup while you keep listening to my explanations and do not lose track of the tour :-) Don't take me as a boring scholar guide. I will take you to try Tapas, we can explore the every-day life of the city, take amazing family pictures on the seafront. . . And as I love art, culture, travelling, and picture taking, we can share our experiences and I am sure that I will learn lots from you and your country!! I am a holder of a PhD in Journalism and Communication, as well as a degree in Translation and Interpreting. I have written numerous books and guidebooks on Gaudí and other catalan architects. We can talk about buildings; but we can talk about food, traditions, ways of living, politics, economy. . . Life in Barcelona and in Catalunya fascinates me and I love to share my views with visitors and learn about your opinions. Walking along with me is fun and deep. I will try my best to give you an unforgettable experience. I leave you with the description of Barcelona written by the Spanish greatest writer Miguel de Cervantes, 500 years ago!! "Barcelona, receptacle of politeness, welcoming place for foreigners, hospital for the poor, nation of the brave, place of revenge for the offended, place where strong bonds of friendship occur, and a site where its beauty is unique. " Let's meet in Barcelona! Fins aviat!! -PhD in Journalism and Communication by the UAB, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona -Degree in Translation and Interpreting by the UAB, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona -Proficiency, First Certificate and Advanced in English by the University of Cambridge, GB -TEFL, Teaching English as a Foreign Language, University of Salford, GB -Official Guide License, issued by the Catalan Government (see the picture in the pic. scroll) -Member of AGUICAT, The Catalan Licensed Tour Guides Association -Member of the Catalan Association of Journalists CPC I don't have any restriction.

You will get the most of the 2 hours as I am a real expert in Gaudí, the most famous architect in history. I was born in Reus, the same city, and our families knew each other. As a journalist, I have written very many bookguides, essays and articles about Gaudi's works. Once inside we will visit the central nave, the museums, and the school. If, in the peak season, tickets for the inside are sold out, I will give you the money back for the tickets and we will visit the open areas. An unforgettable experience. Don't miss the chance of getting along with an expert in Gaudí, and a writer of guidebooks on Gaudí. I suggest to do the tour in the afternoon, 15-17h or 16-18h when the sun is at the west side, and its rays through the warmed coloured stained glass windows -red, orange, yellow- create wonderful effects in the central nave.
- Leet's meet outside the souvenir shop of the temple, by Marina/Mallorca's corner. - Outside façades of the Nativity (1930), Apse (1894), Passion (1977) and Glory (unfinished). - Central nave (2010). - Museum of Gaudí's models (underground). - Museum of liturgical objects designed by Gaudí (west aisle). - School (1909). - End of tour in the exit through the souvenir shop by Marina/Mallorca's corner. *Please note, As the Sagrada Familia is a Catholic church, visitors must dress appropriately, following these restrictions: No see-through clothing. Tops must cover the shoulders. No plunging necklines or exposed backs or bellies. Shorts and skirts must come down to at least mid-thigh.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
