Hola!! I'm Dr. Tate C. an Official Catalan Tour Guide (skip the line guide), researcher and writer. Like Antoni Gaudí, I was born and raised in Reus, and also like him I moved to Barcelona for my college education. This city trapped both of us. Being a former university professor, today I combine my tours, with my writing and with my academic life: congresses, research, and publications. My scholar research allows you to dig deeper and ask plenty of questions . . . More depth than breath :-) For my tours I use my own set of Radioguides, what is commonly called whisperers or quiet boxes. I will talk to a microphone and you will have a tiny earphone, similar to an earring which will highly improve the quality of the visits, specially in noisy areas, inside the taxis, and of course. . . in La Sagrada Familia! Thanks to the whisperer system, you can take pictures and walk medium distances from the grup while you keep listening to my explanations and do not lose track of the tour :-) Don't take me as a boring scholar guide. I will take you to try Tapas, we can explore the every-day life of the city, take amazing family pictures on the seafront. . . And as I love art, culture, travelling, and picture taking, we can share our experiences and I am sure that I will learn lots from you and your country!! I am a holder of a PhD in Journalism and Communication, as well as a degree in Translation and Interpreting. I have written numerous books and guidebooks on Gaudí and other catalan architects. We can talk about buildings; but we can talk about food, traditions, ways of living, politics, economy. . . Life in Barcelona and in Catalunya fascinates me and I love to share my views with visitors and learn about your opinions. Walking along with me is fun and deep. I will try my best to give you an unforgettable experience. I leave you with the description of Barcelona written by the Spanish greatest writer Miguel de Cervantes, 500 years ago!! "Barcelona, receptacle of politeness, welcoming place for foreigners, hospital for the poor, nation of the brave, place of revenge for the offended, place where strong bonds of friendship occur, and a site where its beauty is unique. " Let's meet in Barcelona! Fins aviat!! -PhD in Journalism and Communication by the UAB, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona -Degree in Translation and Interpreting by the UAB, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona -Proficiency, First Certificate and Advanced in English by the University of Cambridge, GB -TEFL, Teaching English as a Foreign Language, University of Salford, GB -Official Guide License, issued by the Catalan Government (see the picture in the pic. scroll) -Member of AGUICAT, The Catalan Licensed Tour Guides Association -Member of the Catalan Association of Journalists CPC I don't have any restriction.

I am a journalist and write guidebooks on Barcelona and Gaudí, and that is what you will get in this tour: A most comprehensive and delicious visit with the feeling of being in a film or through the pages of a book. The tour will start in La Pedrera, "The stone quarry", an underwater world through which Gaudí wanted to praise God. After having enjoyed the façade (the inside is optional), we will walk gently to the casa Batlló, just three streets down the chic boulevard of Gràcia. After having analyzed the neighboring houses, we will focus in the Casa Batlló, an awesome house that wants to be an explosion of energy, mediterraneity and joy, the inside visit is optional. So, you can choose of visiting either only the façades or to enter one or the two houses, Pedrera & Batlló, or both. You can combine this 2h "Gaudi's Masterpieces" tour with my 2h "Sagrada Familia in depth" tour for a full understanding of Gaudi's life and works.
-External and internal visit of La Pedrera (1906-1912), from the roof, the so called "The garden of the warriors" to the central courtyards, passing through the attic, and the fourth floor. -Walking down the delicious boulevard of Gràcia, the poshiest and most chic alleyin the city, that shows off its beauty, its streetlamps, best hotels and best-branded shops. -External and internal visit of la casa Batlló, (1904-1906), the most beloved jewell of design and aesthetics among Gaudi's works. As in La Pedrera, we start the visit in the roof, here the warriors have become joyful clowns. We also go to the attic, the old laundry, and then to the main floor, where the Batlló family used to live in the Belle Epoque.
